soccer contest at Altra Federal Credit Union Stadium. Kick-off is set for 3:00pm (CST). Although it has been over two years since WSU knocked the ball around in the traditional fall season, the Warriors are rested, ready and excited to get started. Additionally, the 2021 matchup provides Winona State a chance to avenge a narrow 2-1 loss at the hands (or feet) of the Rangers on the road in Kenosha. Winona State is eager to start their 2021 campaign, having last played a competitive match nearly 22 months ago. The Warriors will be led into the season by Missy Greco and Bailey Deininger, having been tabbed as WSU Players to Watch on offense and defense, respectively. In 2019, the Warriors finished ninth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and just missed out on the NSIC Tournament. Coach Matt Kellogg, who is in his fourth year leading the Warriors, will rely on a veteran roster of 18 upperclassmen this season, as well an exciting blend of new talent. Eight returners saw action in at least 10 games in 2019, including five that started 10 or more games.

Practice, Practice, Practice It can be difficult to practice for almost two years and not play a live game. Without competition to prepare for, the team focused on coming together and building team culture that will lead to success on and off the field. Coach Kellogg has seen growth with the Warriors during the past year and believes their culture will lead to great success during the 2021 season.
