Our society is in a constant state of change. People are moving around and becoming more and more uninhibited. Migrants have become a new demographic. Their workplaces are located in different areas and time zones. These transplants are constantly changing their homes and adapting to their new environment time and time again. Does Starbucks really alleviate the 'jet lag syndrome' (through caffeine and daily work), or does it simply enhance the sense of spatial and temporal chaos?

How should one live in a normal city?

Is buying a house therefore still attractive?

In the global village, serviced flats seem to offer a natural habitat for the transplanted population. An abstract way of life. Unrestricted and free.

Congregate Housing

The quality of living has improved, and the number of family units has further decreased, often with only three generations living

The Description Of Representative Customer Group

If there is a commercial complex nearby, such as shopping and entertainment facilities, I do not have to rush from one district to another.

Living Alone In The City House prices have risen, the pace of life has accelerated, the lifestyle has changed, and the number of family units has decreased.

Future Life

With the reduction of the number of families and the diversification of functional needs, we began to envisage a new living mode...

R&D Results In The Field - Product House

Traffic jams are often encountered on the way to work.

A clubhouse (including a gym and swimming pool, etc.) is desired, as well as children's play facilities and areas that are more appealing to families.

The rooms in the dwelling are difficult to open with larger windows and views are generally limited

We hope that there will be a detailed property management service, such as renting and management, followed by reminder messages,

As a business person, I often have to work late and when I get home I have some work to do, so it would be nice to have a separate office area.

Traffic jams are often encountered on the way to work, so if housing in the area around your work, you don't have to waste time on the road.

I would like the living room and dining room to be together, so I can practice yoga and put projections in the open space.

The master bedroom, as a necessary space for rest, needs a comfortable resting space and needs.

Four Modular Floors

The scheme consists of a series of stacked floor plates that rotate and stack roof plates to create varying degrees of privacy, giving a rich psychological experience of openness or closure, light or darkness. This is complemented by the accent of vegetation and the fascinating views out to the periphery and beyond. In order to ensure the differentiation of the building volumes and to maintain a reasonable architectural proportion, the tower consists of four modular floors that are repeated in different ways throughout the building. The building structure is supported by a system of cores and regular column networks, so that the interior walls do not need to be loadbearing and can be flexibly arranged for a variety of uses.

"The city has both an urban atmosphere full of literature and the bustle of a metropolis." Chengdu is a city that blends traditional and modern culture very well.

The base is located on the inner side of the Second Ring Road in the western part of Chengdu, close to the Chengdu-Wen Interchange elevated, the project is conveniently located, with mature commercial facilities such as education and healthcare, a strong cultural and governmental atmosphere, and according to the superior location of the whole city. The three buildings reach a height of 145m, offering stunning views of the Chengdu skyline.

Unusual balconies and outdoor staircases create a dramatic spatial structure, both partly static and private, and partly floating and public, with the floors adding to each other to form open, permeable spaces, connected to each other and to the surrounding landscape and city. It is an ideographic, interwoven space that connects the different floors of the development into an open and inclusive social space.

Print deviation problems between layers:

The first layer is that the printing process is the basis between the rest of the parts, so once failed, almost all print specifications may be distorted.

Solutions:

First, adjust the temperature of your device and keep it high enough to prevent the plastic from cooling down and curling, because it tends to shrink.

If the first layer still curls up, raise the set temperature until you are satisfied with the result.

Next, check that your vertical or Z-axis is at the correct height, between 0.10 and 0.25 mm. This height should allow the printer to create an appropriate pressure between the nozzle and the bed, which is essential for printing the first layer.

Finally, make sure that the printing bed is clean, free of grease and any obstructions that may prevent the material from bonding.

Model warping

First adjust the lower knob of the platform to minimize the platform, and then select the platform calibration in the printer settings; Then adjust the knob corresponding to the platform angle to make the platform just contact the nozzle when the nozzle drops to the calibration point each time; Use this method to calibrate the four platform angles once.

3D model printing:

Material:

Photosensitive resin material is used for 3D model printing in this project. Reasonable setting of supports is a very important issue in model printing. In addition, the model surface will have defects if the support is not removed carefully.

Material choose:

The 3D printing building materials need to have fluidity, and also need to take into account the temperature factor. If the fluidity is large, the materials cannot be stacked during the printing process. If the fluidity is small, the print head is easy to be blocked.

Accuracy:

3D printing maintains the integrity of the wall through the close bonding between layers. The higher the precision is, the thinner the thickness is. The lack of precision leads to the lack of smoothness between layers, rough surface and single stripe style.

In the 798 Art District, I want to explore the connection and balance between the serious social environment and artistic events. In Beijing, the political centre of the post-industrial era, the artists in the 798 Art District have been forced to move out of the area as the commercial boom has led to a squeeze on their living space by capital. However, commerce and artistry are not antithetical, so attempt to detect this tenuous connection and quantify the past contradictions.

By simulating the natural growth path of mould, I have established the most efficient way to establish the link between commerce and art. By artificially interfering with spatial patterns to direct the scale of people flow and event activity between different functional spaces. Finally, I place this explored model of optimal balance on the ground to obtain a universal spatial form capable of re-integrating resources in the hope of creating a self-sufficient community structure for the art business and cultural industry.

798 ART COUNTERATTACK

The main body of the building is divided into two parts: the skin and the building unit. The art and commercial unit are the main leisure and entertainment experience areas. The skin, as the outdoor public space of the traffic core, connects the commercial and art units, forming the courtyard and space, and turning into the outdoor sculpture and fashion exhibition, or holding various activities.

We attempted to design residential products for different circles of customers in the context of the ‘villa ban policy’. Even though the rigid indexes of the field project limited the unlimited development of imagination, it gave me precise criteria for evaluating the value of my design. Having identified the needs of different circles of users, we extracted from the construction patterns of classical gardens a type of housing that could combine privacy, fresh air, multi-storey environments, economy and modern structures.

we retained the physically fine materials of classical architecture and replaced some of the traditional materials, which are susceptible to erosion, with modern materials such as metals. Finally, the combination of indoor and outdoor environments creates a fluid space by constructing corridors, courtyards, rooms and terraces, which inadvertently echoes Mies van der Rohe's concept of ‘fluency space’.

Masterplan Strategy:

The traditional garden space is not only for appreciation, but also a container for life, providing space and scenes for various functions of daily life such as reading, meeting friends, entertainment, gardening, exercising, etc. Through the setting of paths, the enclosure of buildings and the coordination of various functional spaces, we can try to give people the needs of daily life and form different scenes of life, making the garden closely linked to daily life and becoming a multifunctional space that can be viewed, appreciated, visited and used.

R&D Landing Project: Humble Administrator's Garden, Suzhou

General layout: The layout is based on the garden, emphasising the flow of the landscape and the integration of landscape and architecture, the public open garden space introduces the concept of traditional garden life, the garden and life are integrated with each other, and can be visited, enjoyed and lived in. Household design: drawing on the essence of Suzhou gardens, the organic combination of space, emphasising the flow of the courtyard and the borrowing and extension of indoor and outdoor spaces.

Modelling research: analyse the architectural features of the gardens of Jiangnan, emphasise the inheritance of classics, the interactive relationship between architecture and garden space is the focus of garden architecture, create architecture based on the present and in line with the aesthetic sensibilities of contemporary people.

The map-base relationship of city

1. The buildings around the base are relatively sparse, and the streets are characterised by large horizontal spacing and close vertical spacing.

2. The layout of the general plan emphasises the relationship with the urban space and the staggered integration into the texture of the old city.

3. The general plan has locally enlarged spatial nodes, echoing the rhythm of urban space while providing public spaces open to the public for touring and appreciation.

Variations and trade-offs in building materials:

When all the traditional decorative elements of classical Chinese architecture are removed, it is possible to obtain a "Chinese architectural prototype". It is the basis for carrying the contemporary version of classical Jiangnan garden architecture.

The following will explore on the basis of this prototype: the possibilities and concrete ways in which individual constructions can be contemporaryised with new materials or new methods of construction, while continuing the flavour and style of traditional Jiangnan garden architecture.

The requirements of contemporary technical innovation (changes and trade-offs in building materials).

The materials used in classical garden architecture in the south of the river are the common folk materials of tile, wood, brick, stone, clay, etc., which have the characteristics of being easily available, easy to construct and simple to hand over. Some of these materials, such as brick and stone, have good physical properties and unique texture after masonry, and are still used in large quantities in contemporary times, meeting the needs of contemporary architecture.

However, some parts of the materials, such as the roof tiles, plaster, boarding and wooden balustrades, are not as durable as they could be due to their physical properties and the fact that they are more susceptible to weathering.

Modern Chinese architecture can retain the form of the ridge, reduce the decoration, harmonise the proportional relationship between the building and the modern materials.

Materials and techniques

The windows and doors are decorated with openwork, which plays a role in ventilation and lighting, and in addition has the effect of transmitting the scenery through the windows. However, the windows and doors of classical gardens all suffer from a lack of light, poor airtightness and poor sound insulation, and need to be optimised with modern windows and doors to improve their performance in terms of light, heat.

Body of the house:

Form Components-hanging, windows, doors, columns

Materials and techniques

The traditional odd number of rooms still meet the aesthetic requirements of middle and symmetrical in contemporary times, and the proportion of rooms is exquisite.

Most of the buildings in the Jiangnan gardens are also constructed in the same way as the timber frame, basically consisting of three main parts: the roof, the body and the pedestal. The traditional three-part composition of the façade is well established. The 'Chinese building prototype' shown on the left retains the basic pattern of the vertical three-part structure.

Three-part Pattern

Single-storey buildings: The traditional proportions are adopted and the three-part pattern is retained, with eaves projections or verandahs creating multiple semi-outdoor spaces.

Multi-storey buildings: Starting with classical proportions, the problem of low eaves on the second and third floors of traditional buildings is improved, and the proportions of each storey are perfected.

Pay attention to the creation of small courtyard characteristic space, and combine the functions to create space characteristics;

The shaping of the landscape and the function of the use space should be combined, and attention should be paid to the creation of the depth of sight in the public space;

From beginning to end, the courtyard is the scenery, the square is the boundary, and the square is the scenery. The emphasis is on moving the scenery, and the use of the landscape to increase the flexibility of the building. The scenery can be formed everywhere, and the entry can be made everywhere.

The Future Plan

The Current Plan

We tried to create a human-vehicle balance field inside and outside the square, making the railway station square an open and dynamic daily theater that belongs to the present.

With the advantage of the landmarks for the project, a hundreds of meters long bridge on foot, connected on both ends of the station, pedestrian Bridges within the space in the design of give a person the sense with flow forward, but also have to stop to have a rest facilities, this for pedestrians in buildings and natural scenery on the way forward together with the outside world, provides the essences of appreciation, rest, exhaustion of body and mind to ease the journey.

The future Plaza acts as a flexible urban space that responds to the movement of people in the surrounding environment, rather than providing fixed procedures to meet these services. Built at the junction of the two junctions, the 60-meter diameter sunken plaza is designed along the station exit landmark and underground level to create a spatial experience. The open-air plaza can host a variety of activities, such as events, performances and exhibitions, while leaving as much space as possible for cultural events

Station Hub Design

Based on the principle of human-oriented and nearby transfer, the scheme effectively solves the complex transfer problems among high-speed railway stations, long-distance stations, bus stations, bus transit stations, taxi stations and other stations by using the main transfer mode covering a variety of above-ground and underground transportation forms.

Inside the hub, we arrange all kinds of transfer streamline reasonably. Avoid the internal congestion caused by excessive concentration, and achieve a complete sense of the diversion of people and vehicles. By integrating all kinds of people flow lines and reasonably setting up all kinds of commercial supporting facilities, the environment of passenger transfer space is greatly enriched and the value of commercial space is greatly improved.

Underground hub as the core construction of station area, with its surrounding the outbound coach station hall, the outbound ticket office, the waiting area and the high-speed rail station hall have transfer between channels, and can be reserved things on both sides of the buildings and the underground nest between station underground commercial street, plus a square on the ground near the high weir road two commercial main entrance on the ground. It has really formed a large-scale comprehensive transportation hub connecting ground and underground.

Section Of Railway Station

The main room of Huaihua South Station has 1 floor and 2 floors in part. The platform is located on the second floor of the station. After entering the waiting hall, passengers directly enter the station through the ticket gate on the north side, and then enter the platform through stairs or underground passage. The square in front of Huaihua South Station is divided into two floors above ground and two floors underground.

"Huayu Villa" creates a huge private terrace for each family. Every three floors are staggered and empty, realizing the tridimensional and spatialization of the terrace, integrating nature into architecture, and forming the amazing effect of "forest in the air". Living houses blur the boundary between architecture and nature and form a better dialogue with the natural environment.

According to the comparison scheme, the method of "turning up the beam+caisson" is adopted. The gap between the structural plate and the beam height is combined with the beam pipe to form a planting space with a net depth of 600mm. Combined with the fixed tree pool, the planting requirements can be fully met.

After comparison of multiple schemes, the structural team adopted the method of enlarging the corner column. At the corner of the building's solid structure, the corner column was aligned with the inner shear wall to form a tie structure, which played a role in stabilizing the terrace slab.
