- Reviving the Old Darkness City in Modern London
University of Greenwich | 2023
Software: Rhino, Enscape, Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD
The project involves designing a new agricultural research center to address the food crisis. This facility will provide accommodation, work areas, and storage, and will be located at Gunpowder Park,Essex.
Inspired by Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City, the Vertical Harvest project aims to create a unique spatial experience in modern London. The design features densely packed vertical cones that form the core structure, housing multiple layers of advanced agricultural cultivation. These cones optimize conditions for crop growth and provide extensive shaded areas for Gunpowder Park while maximizing
sunlight entry into their interiors. The project contrasts dark exterior spaces with sunlit interiors, intensifying visitors' connection with nature. This interplay of light and shadow encourages exploration and offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city. By addressing the food crisis with innovative agricultural techniques, the project also creates a captivating architectural experience.
