Low Cost/No Cost Recreation

At Oliver Parks and Recreation we don’t want to see anyone left out. We want to assist with being able to participate in programs. Here are a few financial assistance options available.

Who we fund is simple: Kids. Kids who want to get active. Kids who want to learn a new sport or activity. Kids who want to keep up with a sport or activity they already enjoy. But these kids just need a little extra financial help to get their name on the roster. Kids aged 4 to 18 from families in financial need can receive funding to help with registration fees, equipment and/or transportation. www.jumpstart.canadiantire.ca

Anyone Can Join is a sponsorship program supported by local organizations like the Tom Harris, Ideal Energy, No Frills, Buy Low foods, and the Oliver Elks to provide financial assistance to Oliver/ Area “C” children, youth and adults towards registration into recreation programs of their choice, up to $150 per person per calendar year. Families or individuals in need of assistance are asked to complete and submit an application form at the Oliver Community Centre. Each form is reviewed in confidence by the Recreation Supervisor and applicants are registered directly into the program using funds provided by sponsors.

Anyone Can Join applications are available at the Oliver Parks and Recreation Office. Jumpstart applications are available on their respective website.

• For Boys and Girls ages 12-18 Oliver, Osoyoos, OK Falls

• Glider and Power Aircraft Pilot license training available for Cadets >14 yrs

• $125 registration fees covers uniforms, equipment, field trips, training/courses

• We meet every Wednesday 6:30-9pm Sept-June

Registration starts September 6, 2023 at 6:30 pm

Birth Certificate, BC Care Card and Parent’s signature required
