Extravagant Love It was a delight to have Rachel Cole encourage us about demonstrating God’s extravagant love to each other last Sunday. She showed how it was in God’s plan that through His love for us, He would call us into a family of adopted Sons and share the same mission as Jesus Christ. Being a Christian means being part of His family of believers therefore we are never alone in our mission and we can flourish because of our needs being met by God through our Church family. We can also be a witness to the world through the love that we show to each other. “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35.

Most people are just told that they are loved but last week, New Life Church amazingly put this into action by showing love for our brother, Ant Cupit! It was really encouraging to see people speak the truth into Anthony’s life, honour him, offer to pray and fast for him; meet practical needs; break bread; and spend time with him. We are to lavish the love that God has shown us on to our fellow brothers and sisters (1 Thess 5:11). Demonstrating love in this way can sometimes be costly but it is a joy because we are showing the selfless and relentless love of God. And God meets our every need as we obey Him by showing that same extravagant love to those around us. Brothers and sisters, because we are a family that love each other, there is no room for lack or loneliness in New Life Church!

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Ope Malamo
