Interest Rates. The fear surrounding the rise in interest rates reminds me of chicken little and no the sky is not going to fall. It is like many other times and economic result to inflation; A situation we have survived before. If you are 65ish you remember being giddy at getting a rate under 14% to buy your first home. Let's keep things in perspective. Over the past 50 years interest rates have been higher than they are right now for more years than not. Let's take a look from the 30,000 foot level. See the image below:

Who you work with matters!

Let's take a little closer look at the last 20 years. Prior to 2008 rates were above where they are now, and it was a runaway market which, as we all know, subprime lending practices led us into an economic downturn, to put it mildly. The rates controlled by the Federal Reserve Board were set artificially low to bring us out of that downturn. We have enjoyed record low rates for the last 10 to 12 years but are now facing inflation due to Covid 19, supply chain issues, and corporate greed. The Federal Reserve has no choice but to raise rates to try and control inflation, something that has been done in years past. People still sold houses and people still purchased houses.
