WHAT IS A MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)?

According to the United Nations website, "Model UN is a popular activity for those interested in learning more about how the UN operates(...) Many of today's leaders in law, government, business and the artsincluding at the UN itself - participated in Model UN as student".

Beyond that, MUNs are also a great opportunity for students to develop, offering invaluable experience in decisionmaking, diplomacy and public speaking, applicable to many career paths.

ABOUT US

The WFUNA International Model United Nations (WIMUN) is the world's most accurate simulation of the Unite Nations, organized by the World Federation of United Nations Association (WFUNA).

WFUNA is a global nonprofit organization established in 1946, with Consultative Status at the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Our award-winning conferences (four times awarded best MUN) take place annually in New York and Geneva, bringing together students from across six continents. By participating in WIMUN, students not only have the opportunity to learn how the UN truly functions but also to interact with UN staff and other experts, while honing their skills in negotiation, teamwork, and consensus-building. THE WIMUN ADVANTAGE

Learn from UN experts. At WIMUN, participants have the unique opportunity to learn directly from UN experts that will help them gain a deeper understanding of the issues they will be discussing.

Sessions at the UN. All previous WIMUN conferences, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held in the GA Hall, which is subject to availability, offering participants a unique and unforgettable experience.

Consensus-building approach. Our participants experience firsthand the challenges and complexities of international diplomacy that aim to reach consensus on the text of the outcome documents they adopt.

BRONZE RECRUITMENT PARTNER

Becoming a Bronze Recruitment Partner is the perfect way for smaller organizations to start participating in WIMUN.

REQUIREMENTS

Two- or three-year agreement between your organization and WFUNA

Commitment to bring a minimum of 15 delegates in the first year of the partnership Increase in the number of students per year reaching a minimum of 45 students in the final year

Stay at the official conference hotel, the InterContinental New York Times Square, which also serves as the venue for WIMUN NY 2024

REQUIREMENTS

One- or multi-year agreement between your organization and WFUNA

Commitment to bring a minimum of 50 delegates if the agreement is signed for one year or an average of 50 students per year for multi-year agreements
