The Sports Club Roadshow project exists to provide high quality support and advice to local sports clubs. Local officers from Wiltshire Council and Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) will be on hand to discuss your specific club issues and project ideas, together with speakers from Sport England’s Club Leader and Community Sport Development programmes.

It forms part of the ‘On Your Marks’ club development programme which offers a wide range of projects, advice and access to funding. This workshop will help clubs work out where they are now, where they want to be and how to get there.
Working with local schools This ‘Talking Sport’ seminar will help your club build successful partnerships with schools in your local area. It will look at what makes a good school-club link, how to go about setting one up and identify the important benefits it will bring.

Accessing funding for relatively small scale revenue projects is a regular requirement for sports clubs. This session will look at a successful example of applying for funding and discuss the potential pitfalls and solutions along the way.

Having a well planned marketing strategy will help you work out what your club’s current offer is, consider which marketing routes would be the most effective depending on the desired outcome and evaluate best value for money.
This workshop will help Treasurers or those involved in the finances of their club understand what people look for in their club’s finances and how to communicate it including developing a meaningful budget and using them to ask the right questions or make the right decisions.

This ‘Talking Sport’ seminar looks at communication processes in your club. Identifying new ways to engage with your members, it will help you determine the best way to communicate with members of various ages and motivations.
This seminar will help ensure you are getting the best out of your current workforce of volunteers. It will support retention of those that are helping your club by looking at ways to appropriately motivate/reward them and ensure your recruitment drive is less of a burden.

Big capital projects often incur long, seemingly impossible and fruitless searches for large amounts of money to see facility developments through to success. This session will feature a positive case study and discuss the journey you’ll need to undertake to get there.
Seeking funding can be a long and arduous task. This session will give you details of a wide variety of local, regional and national funding sources that you can access and pointers on best ways and methods to approach them.
Venue Trowbridge Civic Centre (postcode BA14 8AH) is located opposite the multi-storey car park in the middle of the town. Take Castle Street from the Longfield House roundabout and park in the car park to the left or the multi storey. Limited parking is available at the Civic Centre.
