Age 29 Family Husband Robert Rountree Current company, position, and job responsibilities After graduating from North Carolina State University, I returned to Wilson, and began working with the BB&T Northeastern NC Wealth Team. I am a Personal Trust Specialist, with the responsibility to conduct the administration of investment, retirement, trust and estate accounts. What do you like best about what you do? My job at BB&T gives me the opportunity to facilitate charitable and scholarship trust distributions. I can see firsthand the positive impact those trusts have for various non-profits and students in our region. What other organizations are you a part of? I am a member of the First United Methodist Church Staff-Parish Relations Committee, and have been involved with programs through BB&T Lighthouse, BB&T United Way Champions, BB&T Women’s Information Network, Wilson Chamber of Commerce Young Leaders and the Wilson Economic Development Council Young Leadership Program. Professionally, I am a member of the Institute of Certified Bankers. What are you doing to help make a difference in our community? Through BB&T’s Lighthouse program, our team has been able to serve our community annually, through Backpack Buddies, The Wesley Shelter, Wilson County Office of Senior Citizens Affairs and several public schools. I also make conscious efforts to promote Historic Wilson Downtown businesses and events. What do you like best about working/living in Wilson? There is a strong comfort factor in living and working in our community, because of the strong support network of family and friends. Who has been the most inspirational figure to you? Why? The women who have forged a path for me in the way of rights, education and industry. What is your favorite book? Pride & Prejudice What is your favorite movie? Saving Private Ryan What is your biggest hope for the future of Wilson? That Wilson’s leaders continue to attract quality, sustainable development, that will help Wilson remain a vibrant community.
