01 LODGE COTTAGES

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The client's brief was to create lodge cottages that would accommodate people during holidays and short accomodation stays.

The design is inspired by the A-frame built form, specifically chosen for its affordability, Aesthetics and easy access to materials.

The units can accomodate 2 individuals and feature a self contained bathroom, kitchen, bedspace and lounge area.

Huge sliding doors opening to a veranda offer maximum views to the surrounding scenery, daylighting and ventilation

MY HILL COUNTRY RESORT -

Gate Away park in Chogoriaa, Tharaka Nithi county AREA

The task was to Create an architecturally captivating gate away park in Chogoria, Kenya, integrating a children's playground, organic recreational swimming pool, and culturally themed lodging rooms.

The design would require thoughtful planning to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings and local culture.

MY HILL COUNTRY PARK

Site Integration:

The park nestled within the lush greenery of Chogoria, utilizes the natural landscape to its advantage.

The layout incorporates existing trees and vegetation, minimizing disturbance to the environment.

Entrance and Gatehouse:

The entrance features a welcoming gatehouse.

The gatehouse serves as a focal point, providing information about the park's amenities and cultural significance.

Children's Playground:

The playground is designed with safety and creativity in mind.

Organic Recreational Swimming Pool:

The swimming pool blends seamlessly with the natural environment, utilizing organic shapes and materials like stone and pebble finishes.

Surrounding landscaping include native flora, providing shade and enhancing biodiversity.

Eco-friendly filtration systems and water treatment methods to be employed to maintain water purity without harming the environment.

Lodging Rooms with Cultural Design:

The lodging rooms reflect the rich cultural heritage of Kenya, incorporating elements of traditional architecture, such as roof design abstracted from traditional thatched hut roofs, and decorative motifs inspired by local tribes.

Each room could feature handcrafted furnishings, artwork, and textiles sourced from

Common Areas and Amenities:

Shared spaces like dining areas, lounges, and fire pits encourage social interaction and relaxation.

By carefully considering the location, architectural design, housing options, sustainability features, and community facilities, such a development can become a premier destination for those seeking an upscale residential experience in the area.

Serenity homes is a blend of luxury, comfort and functionality while respectingthe environment within which it is built in.

The development capitalizes on the lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere incoorporating landscaped overhead gardens/green scapes.

Interior Layout:
