Strategy, Strikes and Stamina:
The Junior Writers got to take on an exciting challenge for their March meeting at T.A.G. Muay Thai. The gym, located in Sterling, provided an engaging class for the Writers where they learned techniques like blocks, kicks, and punches, led by Willowsford resident Christopher M. Aboy.
Muay Thai is a form of martial arts that takes hard work, discipline, and a good workout. But it became something much more than that to Christopher M. Aboy, head instructor and founder of T.A.G. Muay Thai. His martial arts journey started off in 2006 in his garage, and with an accomplished resume of hard work in the police force, and extensive training and experience, he was able to build his passion into the T.A.G. Muay Thai gym it is today.

T.A.G. Muay Thai also hosts seminars with world-class champions, self-defense classes for women running groups, sororities, Girl Scouts, and The White House employees. In addition to classes and programs, they’ve brought in successful fighters like UFC Champion Glover Teixeira and Supergirl, a popular fighter in Thailand.

“People think that we just do martial arts, but the reality is that we teach people life skills.” Chris proudly explains. “We have all kinds of people, but when they walk through the door everybody’s the same.” You can read more about Chris Aboy and his Muay Thai essentials in his book: Conquering Muay Thai.
