1. Introduction

Samgong-Mitsubishi Selfjector is the brand name for oil purifiers manufactured by ours under the manufacturing license with Mitsu bishi Kakoki Kaisha, Ltd. of Japan.

We has been meeting the needs of customers to supply our oil pur ifier, backed up by the reliable technology of Mitsubishi Kakoki Kai sha, Ltd. with 65 some years history and sales record of more than 75,000 units since 1942.

And now we introduce our latest model, Genius (SJ-G) Series .

2. Principle of Separation What is oil purifier?

Oil purifier means a separating operation by means of centrifugal force for thickening of solid particles suspending in liquid(solid-liquid), separation of water particles(liquid-liquid) or simultaneous of removal of water and solid particles dispersing in oil(solid-heavy liquid-light liquid) etc.

If centrifugal force which is several thousand times larger than gravity is used in these operations, it will greatly accelerate the separation.

Namely, taking an example of removal of solid particles in liquid, one sedimentation centrifuge has sufficiently a capacity equivalent to that of a settling basin whose area shall be several hundred meter square.

Centrifugal and Gravity sedimentation Oil purifier performs separation by sedimentation in centrifugal field and SELFJECTOR is a kind of sedimentation centrifuge.

Upper Fig. Shows gravity sedimentation under static condition which is Substituted for centrifugal sedimentation as shown in Lower Fig. Both centrifugal and gravity sedimentation perform separation by means of Specific gravity difference between mixed liquids, using gravity force for the former and centrifugal for the latter.

Each unit has a reducing valve upstream of the solenoid valves. ▶ The solenoid valves unit for operating water is built in the oil purifier. ▶ The solenoid valves unit controls the feed of operating water for opening bowl, operating water for closing bowl, and replacement water. ▶ Each solenoid valves is actuated by input signals from the automatic control panel to effect and stop the feed of operating water to the oil purifier.

4. Structure of Oil Purifier(1/4) * General The power is transmitted from the motor through the friction clutch to the horizontal shaft and is further increased in speed and transmitted to the vertical shaft through the spiral gear mounted on the horizontal shaft and pinion on the vertical shaft.

The vertical shaft is supported by upper and lower bearings.

The bowl mounted on the top of the vertical shaft rotates at the speed of the vertical shaft.

To supply feed liquid to SELFJECTOR, the suction pump(gear pump) is connected to horizontal shaft through the safety joint, To deliver light liquid, the centripetal pump (impeller) is built in the top of bowl

4. Structure of Oil Purifier(2/4) Horizontal Shaft parts * Horizontal Shaft Between the motor and horizontal shaft, the friction block is provided.

The horizontal shaft is supported by 2 ball bearings built in bearing housing(3) and bearing housing(4).

Between them, the spiral gear is mounted.

The bearing housing(3) and (4) are provided with oil seals to avoid gear oil leakage.

The horizontal shaft is directly coupled with the gear pump by safety joint.

* Brake By springs, the brake linings are pressed against the outer surface of friction pulley to perform braking.

Use the brake only when quick stop is absolutely required in emergency, for repair or checkup.

* Friction Clutch A friction clutch is used for gentle starting and acceleration, thereby preventing the motor from being overloaded.

The motor shaft has a friction boss provided with a friction block and horizontal shaft has a friction pulley.

After starting, the motor instantly turns at critical speed, the friction block lining is pressed against the internal surface of the friction pulley via centrifugal force and the power is transmitted to the friction pulley as the friction pulley and lining slip with each other. The bowl is so designed that normally it attains its rotation in about 6 minutes.

4. Structure of Oil Purifier(3/4) Vertical Shaft parts * Vertical Shaft The speed of revolution of the horizontal shaft is increased by the vertical shaft pinion and vertical shaft rotates the bowl mounted on its top.

The vertical shaft and bowl are supported by upper spring and leaf springs radially incorporated at 6 points on the upper bearing section and lower springs in the lower bearing section so that they can stably rotate.

4. Structure of Oil Purifier(4/4) Bowl parts * Bowl The bowl vessel mainly consists of body, hood and nut.

The bowl incorporates separation chamber composed of disc(1) and top disc and distributor which distributes feed liquid from the bowl inlet to the separation chamber uniformly.

There is a main cylinder which slides vertically by water pressure to discharge sludge separated and accumulated on the inner wall of bowl during operation.

At 2 points on the outlet introduced through the feed liquid inlet through the distributor to the separation chamber passes through the gap between discs(1), solids and water are separated and purified oil is continually delivered outside by the centripetal pump(light liquid impeller) located on the top of bowl.

* Centripetal Pump Centripetal Pump is a spiral gear impeller provided on the top of bowl to transfer light and heavy liquids out of the machine.This pump is provided with spiral gear or radial hole in a disc with certain thickness, dipped in liquid will be discharged by its own turning force along groove or hole.

5. Operation Procedure (1/7) 1. Inspections prior to running 1. Make sure that the oil pipes, operating water pipes, and air pipes are correctly laid and that the joints are firmly tightened.

2. Make sure that the wiring has been done correctly.

3. Flush the inside of pipes connected to the purifier to completely remove foreign matters from them.

4. Assemble the bowl assembly. (Refer to the cautions of next page) 5. Refill an appropriate type of lubrication oil in the gear case. This oil quantity should be confirmed with the oil gauge. * Oil quantity : 16 Liter(HFO), 6.5(LO) & Replacement interval : Every 3 months 6. Make sure that the primary pressure of compressed air supply pressure is between 5 to 9 kgf/cm 2.

7. Open the source valve on the operating water pipe to make sure the pressure of 3.5 to 5 kgf/cm2.

8. Make sure that the brake is in the non-braking position.

9. Make sure the direction of revolution.

10. power on the panel and make sure that the timer setting value is appropriate.

11. Make sure that the purifier has been properly assembled with bolts completely tightened.

5. Operation Procedure (2/7) CAUTION! Before resuming operation after the bowl has been overhauled and reassembled, check to ascertain the following.

1. Clean the vertical shaft, Water supplying parts and lower side of bowl assembly with a dry duster.

2. Make sure that the cap nut tying the bowl and vertical shaft together is tightened firmly.

3. Make sure that the alignment marks (stamped 0) on the bowl meet.(Refer to Fig)

＜ Bowl ＞ 1) Bowl body, 101 2) Bowl nut , 119 3) Light liquid chamber, 120 4) Heavy liquid chamber, 134 ＜ Upper Hood ＞ 1) Nut, 320 4. Assemble the bowl into the vertical shaft, check the height, and make sure that the bowl can be easily rotated by hand.

5. Make sure that the joints and traps (frame cover) of the piping are firmly tightened.

6. Make sure that the union nuts and cover nuts of the inlet pipe are firmly tightened. (Refer to the cautions of next page)

5. Operation Procedure (3/7) <Method of tighten the lock nut> The tally mark of the lock nut will tend to go ahead of that of the upper hood because of the seating or wear of the tapered portion of the impellers.

Even if the tally marks are slightly out of alignment, no problem will be caused.

Therefore, turn down the lock nut all the way with a torque wrench.

Tightened the lock nut to the torque, 1,000 kg¡as below Fig.

If the tally marks are more than 180 ° out of alignment, replace the impeller(1) and impeller(2) with new one.

Then, tighten the lock nut with torque wrench and certainly punch the tally mark("o" mark) again.

5. Operation Procedure (4/7) 2. Precautions on start-up 1. Operation sound When an abnormal sound is heard, immediately stop the operation and inspect the purifier and identify the cause.

2. Vibration Vibration may temporarily occur just after start-up, however, this is not an abnormally.

It will be reduced when the rated number of revolution is achieved.

At the rated number of revolution if the vibration is large, immediately stop the operation and inspect the purifier and identify the cause.

If feed liquid is being supplied, discontinue it and stop the purifier immediately without sludge discharged.

3. Start-up time Purifiers reach their rated speeds in 3 to 7 minutes with current stabilized at 50 to 70% of the rated level.

If the purifier fails to reach its rated speed despite the lapse of more than 10 minutes, stop it in accordance with given stopping procedure and check the friction block.

The rated speed can be checked with Ampere Meter on the Control panel.

5. Operation Procedure (6/7) Step 1 Select suitable gravity discs in accordance with the gravity disc selection procedure for purifier (Refer to Operation Manual 2)

Step 2 Before start-up, make sure that the valves [V5] is half open, [V6, V7, V8, V9, V10 and V12] are fully open and that the valve [V11] is fully closed. (V11 and V12 are applied to HFO Purifier)

Step 3 Set power switches of the panel to ON in that order.

Step 4 Start the oil heater In case of Electric heater. (This project is not applied)

Step 5 Depress the [MOTOR START] button on the panel to start up the purifier motor.

5. Operation Procedure (7/7) Step 6 Depress the [AUTO START ] button on the touch screen to start up the purifier system. * If selected MANU/AUTO Mode S/W on the panel to [AUTO], this step is not applied.

Step 7 After making sure that the purifier-run enters, regulate flow control valve V5 to a given feed rate.

4. Stop Step 1 Depress the [AUTO.STOP] push button on the touch screen.

Step 2 After making sure that the SELFJECTOR completely stops, close both the feed liquid inlet valve V7 and butterfly valve V10.

Step 3 Set power switches of the panel to OFF in that order.
