What is a microfiber cloth and how to use it What is microfiber? People often ask: What is a microfiber cleaning cloth? Microfiber is defined as a fiber with a fineness of 1 denier or less. What is a denier? It is a measure of fineness that is equal to a fiber unit that weighs one gram for every 9,000 meters, which means it is really small. To give you an idea, a microfiber is 1/100 the diameter of a human hair and 1/20 the diameter of a silk thread. One square inch of microfiber cloth has approximately 200,000 fibers just for cleaning!

Will it work when wet? When your towel is wet, it works great for smudged dirt, grease and stains. A towel works best if you rinse it and then wring it out, as it needs some absorbency to pick up dirt.
