Founded in London, in 1976. The POD name derived from an acronym for ‘Product of PODDesire’.challenges expectations of what a British shoe should be, striking the balance between rich heritage and progressive fashion designs. The original, cult POD style, Jagger, was created as a reaction against the platform shoes and flares trend that had become popular in the early 1970s. The owners of the brand, Bill and Tony, wanted to design a flatter, more casual shoe to be worn with straight fitting jeans.
The POD collection is designed in England and manufactured in Portugal; in the same factory the collection was first produced with in the 70’s. The factory was founded 1935 and is today’s oldest shoe factory in Portugal, so they know a thing-or-two about high-quality shoes.
POD releases products in very limited runs, so they are able to ensure the elimination of almost all wastage and only buy what is required. POD is committed to creating great footwear with care.Designed in England – Skilfully Crafted - Ethically Sourced

First introduced back in the 1970’s, our brand mascot, Mr. POD, is an integral part of our history. A bedrock of the POD Originals experience, the signature Mr POD fob accompanies every pair like a stamp of approval from the founders themselves.
THE HEAVY CONTRAST STITCHING
The woven tab came about during the design of the iconic Gallagher as a way to create a point of difference. The owners of the brand went on the search for a woven label and they came across the red, white and blue material from over-cuts from the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977. It’s been with us ever since.

Since 1976 we’ve combined soft leather hides and quality materials with our signature stitch-down construction. So as well as providing your feet with unparalleled comfort, your POD shoes will shape to fit the arches of your feet and will mould to your exact pressure points.

A natural shock absorber and insulator, the POD Original crepe exudes quality. Stitched comfortably underneath our distinctive upper designs, the thick contrasting sole makes our shoes unmistakably POD.

2022 COLLABORATION
HANON x POD Jagger ‘Space Biscuit’

We present a collaboration with HANON with a psy chedelic take on our cult Jagger silhouette, dubbed the ‘Space Biscuit’. Inspired by the cultural phenomenon of rave, the late 1980’s gave birth to Acid House, a movement that gripped the country and changed the cultural landscape beyond recognition. Set against the backdrop of disused industrial spaces, new sounds emanating from Chicago and liberated ways of thinking, transformed these spaces and those who passed through them into another world. Detailing arrives via a Flame branded leather looped tongue label with bar tack stitch, alternating HANON & POD debossed leather tabs, and a purple leath er lining. Further branding has been applied along the collar by way of a debossed ‘Product of Desire’ callout, a set of dual branded leather laminate foot beds featuring a custom Pod logo print evoking the graphics on posters and clothing from that era. Lastly, a custom heel window has been made allowing for both HANON & POD script branding against an apt era-friendly vibrant tie dye effect.
