At Home

Home Sweet Home

By Heidi Powell As we have been adapting to how to do business during Covid-19, we’ve been able to reflect on our years of working in the Willamette Valley. Since 1990, we’ve been committed to designing and building the spaces of our clients’ dreams. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the area, been through a major recession, and enjoyed many good times too. This year has presented new challenges, that is for certain. But as in the past, our team is working through it and continuing to maintain the same standards of excellence and service we have always provided. We’ve all been home a little bit more than usual, and we realize now more than ever the importance and value of our homes. They are the place where we are safe, where our families have grown, and where we can forget about other things going on in the world. But some of us have also started to see things we want to change. Maybe as you are cooking at home more often, you’ve noticed that the walk from your fridge to your stove is just a little too long. Or maybe you’re wishing your home had a dedicated office space. Either way, we’re all starting to appreciate our houses in a different way and may want to modify them to fit our lifestyle. We are so excited about our new designs that are starting and look forward to watching them come to fruition. Now is the time to set up an appointment to begin planning for your home remodel. One might compare this time to a storm. We can hunker down and wait it out and hope that things will be easy on the other

side. Or we can press on, and use this time to strengthen our ship and make preparations for when it is over. We have been working on our processes and systems and fine tuning them to work even better in this changing environment. Adopting an online communication platform that allows us to work closely as a team, even when we aren’t together is just one of many ways that we are adapting to the ever-changing world. On our projects, our field crew is following guidelines to keep our clients safe and minimizing contact. We’ve set up hand washing stations and are making every effort to practice strict distancing practices. Through virtual meetings and other creative solutions our office staff is working through the design process. For those of you who are cautiously moving forward, you can be certain that we will continue to provide the best available service. Tom and I always say we are in the business of designing and building dreams. From design through construction, our team listens to the homeowners’ concerns and helps execute their vision. We coordinate various subcontractors and do our absolute best to provide a seamless construction process. For everyone, this year has presented a lot of new challenges. But that’s what serving a small community is all about, you are here during the good times and the bad. We’re weathering the storm, and we know that through extra care and diligence we as a company, along with our local community, will see our way through it.
