Reflection Paper On Internship
This summer I am interning at Carmen and Muss P.L.L.C. a small law firm here in Washington D.C. It is a real estate law firm run by member Mindy Carmen. She started her own law firm in the private sector working with government contracts after years of working in the public sector in various parts of the federal government. Over the past few weeks working in the office I have gotten the opportunity to grow closer and learn a lot from Mindy. Who is also my internship supervisor. In my internship I work with her and her assistant, Marissa, a current law student at George Washington. For this assignment I interviewed my supervisor Mindy. However, because during this time of year she has to travel a lot. Therefore, we ended up doing the interview on Friday, June 30th over the phone. For the past couple of weeks, she has been working out of the office, consequently, on her way out of town that Friday I interviewed her over the phone while she was traveling. This interaction, while not a traditional face to face interview, allowed me to ask Mindy questions about her background and what led her to her current career. I conducted the interview like a conversation. Despite this interview not being conducted in person, I learned a lot about her in addition to the other opportunities I've had throughout the internship to connect with her. A few times a week she will meet with me to go over different tasks I have completed and how they are important to the office and to my career in

Business internships are helping students gain real world experience while they are not actually out in the real world yet. Internships are becoming more and more popular with college students in today's world. An internship is basically when a student in college goes to a company or business and works while they are still enrolled in school and still getting academic credit. The main purpose of the internship is for the student to gain valuable on the job work experience. But there are also other things that a student can get from internships. Internships help the student decide whether or not this line of work is correct for them. Since the student works in an occupation in which they are highly interested in it really helps...show more content...
For that reason alone is a great reason as to why all business schools should build a strong internship program.
An internship is no good if you do not make it work. Thus making the internship work for you is very important. To start out the student must want to direct their full attention to the internship because the internship is pretty much starting out their future. First impressions are usually suppose to be good so a student should not go into an internship thinking that it is going to be easy and that they can just blow through it. Internships should be beneficial for the students and the employer's. The internship program coordinator should look for a few things when they are picking out the companies in which they are going to send their students to learn and gain experience. First off the firm in which you might be thinking about going into for an intern must have work for you to do. Sitting behind a desk all day staring out the window will not teach you anything. It also helps out when there are positive people surrounding the student intern. "For an internship to work, the firm's principals must be available to supervise and teach."(Berger 30) The student intern will usually have lots of questions and if there are good people around the intern to answer his or her questions and correct their mistakes then the internship will be quite beneficial.
There are legal concerns that come along with internships that the Get more

Internship Statement For Internship
This summer I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to participate in a research and development internship at the world's largest snack company, MondelД“z International, which is known for its iconic brands such as Oreo, Sour Patch Kids, Triscuit, Trident, Swedish Fish, Cadbury, and many more. The headquarters for this international giant is located in Chicago, Illinois; however, I was employed in the research and development center positioned in East Hanover, New Jersey. Completing my second year at Penn State last May fully aware that I would be moving to New Jersey from my small hometown around Erie, PA, I was under the perception that I had an idea of what the summer would hold for me. However, this was an overstatement, for what I experienced in the time between May and August truly altered my viewpoint on education, business, and food science. Accepting the offer to participate in aninternship with MondelД“z International last fall, I understood that the experience would be very enriching, for this was what my professors and older students conveyed. I set goals such as attempting to act as a sponge, extracting every single experience/knowledge that I could from professionals in the industry, networking with other food science students participating in the internship as well as the mentors that would be leading me through the project, exposing myself to a different lifestyle as a salary employee and resident of uniquely cultured New Jersey, and many others.

I want to thank you for giving me an opportunity to interview so that I can be selected as your intern candidate. I gain a lot of great experiences from the intern role. Nevertheless, I feel that this internship is not what I expected. Also, I learned nothing related with my major. My last day as an intern will be July 28, 2017 so I hope that you will accept this letter as my official one month's notice of resignation from the internship. I appreciate your patience and cooperation with me during this time. I also want to wish you the best of luck and look forward to hearing great things about your company. Get

I would define myself as a visual/tactical learner. I like to see how things work and physically experience them. Because this is how I learn best, I am never timid to volunteer for new experiences. As a result of my preference for hands onlearning, I am always on time and actively involved in group learning and observation opportunities.
How do you handle stress? I find the best way to deal with stress is to minimize it first; skills like organization, focus, and prioritizing often eliminate anxiety. In the workplace, I find open deliberation is also effective. After hours, I relieve stress by regular exercise. Yoga, jogging, hiking, and cycling are all regular activities that I enjoy. For me, physical activities clear my mind and restore my energy

When I started off as a college student, I always asked people what I could do to increase my chances of finding a job right after college. Often times, I found that the only advice they would offer me was to have a couple of internships under my belt. Now, I'll admit I was always entirely turned off by this idea. I wanted to get advice that would help me sneak my way to the top without having to do an internship. Mainly because as a broke college student I wanted to find a job where I would get paid, not a non–paid internship where I would deliver coffee to a snobby boss who was too cheap to hire an assistant and settled for an "intern" instead. So as you could imagine, hearing people give me this advice made me roll my eyes. But, fast forward a few months later and here I am, sitting at my own desk doing a paid internship for a kick ass agency. Surrounded by the biggest warm–hearted goofballs I've ever had the blessing to know and learn from.
This internship has been the most real experience for me. I don't run out to get coffee, I don't alphabetically sort number files (crossing my fingers this isn't a real task people have to do if so I'm so sorry come intern here), or pick up anyone's dry cleaning. They work to push us outside of our comfort zones and give us as close to a real agency experience as we could possible get. They jump at every and any opportunity they have to show us how to grow and further develop our skills.

High School Internships
When thinking about graduating high school and going into college, do you ever think that you will get a job right when you graduate? Yes that may be the case for some individuals but for the more technical jobs and the ones that require more schooling for, look for student who have experience with their major. It is important to know the different internships that are offered throughouthigh school and college. Browsing through the Missoula hospitals web pages I found information regarding the different types of job shadowing and volunteer work that they provide. Starting with St. Patrick Hospital web page I found a link leading to the different volunteer work that they have to offer. St. Patrick Hospital's...show more content...
Participants must be at least 16 years of age and enrolled in related high school or college courses or is an adult who has expressed great interest in a health care career (Shadowing Program Policy" 2). It's great knowing that Missoula has these wonderful connections with the hospitals. I guess my real question is that why don't they offer any internships through the school year and only during the summer?
I want to know why the only common internships for the medical field are offered during summer hours and not during the school year. Frenchtown High School 2013–2014 Registration Course Selection Guide stated that "Frenchtown requires student to have 24 credits to graduate. As you get older you are offered more elective classes to take. You have eight classes per semester attending four each day" (6). Most students toward the end of their senior year already have 20–22 credits, meaning you only need two more credits to be eligible to graduate. These seniors have so much time on their hands, and they end up taking work releases or classes they don't enjoy doing. As a senior myself I find myself taking classes that I don't need, but take just to fill in a class period. Having this said, there is so much time on their hands to be able to do an internship during the school year, and not just in the summer. As I interviewed both our High School Principal Jake

Internship Essay For Internships
How did I came about with this internship? Good question to ask. The decision I made from the list was listed as UAMS– Patient Education Patient Care Services with Barbie Brunner. I contacted her and even went up to her office to see if it was possible I can intern in her department. She stated, "she is interviewing an internship coordinator, so give her a few weeks." The few weeks will be around when the semester start, so that wouldn't help me at all. I went to this women name Katherine Metz (I go to church with her). During graduation season for high school students, she was recognized for University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) number one Nurse Educator Award. A lightbulb pop above my head. I thought to myself that I should talk to her about an internship at UAMS dealing with educating patients. She ask for some personal information and she emailed me back within two days. Dana Smith– Patient Education Specialist– emailed me and told me she will be handling getting me processed to intern with them. I went in for an interview. They told me the general information about the department, what will be taking place on the first day, scheduling, dress code, lunch, parking, and how and where to get the badge. After talking to them I know I will enjoy this internship with Dana Smith and Emily Gordon in the Patient Education Department at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).

I have always loved looking and participating in art classes, although I am not the best artist, and I enjoy learning about the history behind different art techniques. But I think that international relations would be something that is absolutely amazing to learn about because through this I could learn about the connections and effects that occur between so many different nations, and learn about how they interact with one another. I feel like I could provide an interesting perspective to this program, for the main reason of having been apart of programs similar to this one during previous summers. I work well with others, and I always try to keep an open mind as to avoid biases and to be more empathetic and understanding towards others. I am very adaptive to my surroundings even if that means changing topics within a classroom discussion. Something else about me is that I am what is known as an ambivert. INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Internship is an opportunity offered by various companies to potential students or candidates, called as "interns", to work in the firm for a limited or fixed time period. Internship offers students lot of exposure to the practical world and provides practical experiences in the industry relating to their field of study. This becomes a valuable experience as it allows us to understand how our studies are applied in the "real world", and it gives a good picture for our Curriculum Vitae`.
Internships can also be called as job training for professional careers. Internships generally, consists exchange of ideas and services for experience between students and organizations. Some interns find permanent, paid programme with the organizations for which they worked. This gives a benefit to the employer as they do not have to search for a new employee, as the interns are trained previously and they are less demanding. I used my interpersonal skills such as: coping strategies; peer relationships and effective social skills; communication, problem–solving techniques, decision–making, conflict resolution, how to work in a team, where everyone depends on each other and a lot of patience. I developed many new skills such as multitasking, problem solving /decision making, and leadership qualities. I learned that I am a role model. It is important to develop a good relationship with students; however, I must keep in mind that I am expected to behave myself in a professional manner at all times. My Accounting Internship
Company culture is the identity embedded with the underlying business operations of the film. Culture, in many respects, is behind the service provided to customers, the metrics deemed important to success and the overall working environment for all employees. As such, culture plays a very profound role within the organizations as it competes with other very similar firms. Culture differentiates seemingly mediocre firms from those that continue to take market share. My internship allowed me to realize first hand how company culture can affect the attitudes and behaviors of employees in regards to success, motivation, and teamwork.
My internship was within a small accounting firm, with only a small number of employees. The attire of that was required with the job was that of professional business slacks and shirt. The boss, and the four other employees wanted to portray an image of professionalism and attire was the catalyst for this image. He also did not allow any food or drink in the office as he was fearful of the image it would portray to others. The firm was very focused on the customer experience and how certain activities could diminish their trust in the company. The firm was neatly decorated with very little amounts of artwork. As a small firm, the company did not have the lavish budget to spend on visually appealing merchandise. Instead, the company relied on strategically placed pictures throughout the firm. Many of which were replicas of other famous artwork.

How does a hospital run without adequate water to develop X–ray films? What are the signs and symptoms of malaria? What is the most common cause of infant mortality worldwide? These are all questions to which I learned answers during my six–week clerkship in rural South Africa. That a well–rounded education is the mark of a true scholar is a belief I acquired from my high–school education, and in that spirit I flew off to try and understand some of the important issues in the changing South Africanhealth care system.

Although American physicians tend to be interested in the science and not the administration of health care, the two go hand in hand. In South Africa, one has the chance to work with and learn from other medical students whose curricula include rotations in health care administration as well as in scientific study. I feel fortunate that, by studying abroad, I have been formally and practically introduced to some of the politics that influence health treatments and distribution. I expect that this will likely influence my thinking later in my career as well.
In addition to the influence of politics in health care, I was exposed to the importance of culture. Treatments and etiologies of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, and contraception contain cultural components. When working with women about family planning in South Africa, for example, Depo–Provera shots are the most effective option. The explanation for this lies in the strongly patriarchal and agricultural nature of the indigenous society. A traditional rural family includes many children (preferably male). With many children, however, nourishment and supervision are usually insufficient. Consequently, aninterest in contraception has arisen. Although oral contraceptives were available at first, this

Before I started my internship, I set out a few learning objectives that has boosted my confidence, knowledge and capability to take on challenges hands on. One of these objectives was to build a network of connections in the workplace in order to have a chance of getting employed after graduation. This specific goal turned out to be the easiest objective considering that I was building networks subconsciously through causal as well as formal interactions. I ended up meeting plenty of people in my company and the companies that were doing business with our firm. However, the real challenge is keeping in touch with these people and making sure that I don't become a distant memory. Moreover, I wanted to learn how to asses individual underwriting risks through hands on work or work experience in order to perfect my skills in this specific theoretical concept. Unfortunately, the work schedule I was assigned was very far from this task, and I realized that the job contained sensitive information of clients and future clients, therefore only experienced professionals are assigned that type of job.
