WE GIVE CAMPAIGN UPDATE

At the request of WSF supporters and consistent with the 2% for Conservation program of which WSF is a founding partner, we have launched the WSF Conservation Revolving Fund “We Give” campaign. Watch for WSF “We Give” partners who proudly include the “We Give” logo in their advertisements and/or promotions as those advertisers, exhibitors and businesses give a percentage or portion of their sales to the WSF Conservation Revolving Fund. 100% of WSF Conservation Revolving Fund contributions are directed to initiatives benefiting wild sheep and the habitat they call home.

Proceeds are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law and are directed to Grant-In-Aid and other specific conservation projects to Put and Keep Wild Sheep on the Mountain® . Participants to date include:

TAKE ONE–PUT ONE BACK & WOMEN HUNT

The Take One – Put One Back (TOPOB) programs was conceived and launched in the spring of 2013 to provide WSF members who have taken a wild sheep the opportunity to “put one back.” Donors make a $5,000 (or more) tax deductible donation to WSF to “put one back” when they buy a permit or a sheep hunt, draw a special sheep permit or just want to “put a wild sheep back on the mountain.” (The cost to T&T and GPS collar a wild sheep is ~$4,700 as estimated by WSF VP of Conservation Kevin Hurley.) The donor receives a sheep “ear tag” lapel pin which includes WSF logo, “I Put 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, etc. Back” moniker and number. Number of tag and pin = number of sheep your gift will “put back” on the mountain.

To date, an incredible $1,422,000 has been raised and has been (or will be this year for 2022 gifts) directed to programs putting wild sheep on the mountain, or in some cases, keeping them there. One hundred percent of the dollars raised is “put back on the mountain” through this now decadelong WSF program.

An incredible $225,000 in TOPOB appeals were raised to date prior to, during, and immediately after our recent 2022 Sheep Show® convention in Reno. These generous donations were made by industry partners and WSF members including: American Snuff, Inc., Albert Seeno, Brian Benyo, Leupold, Mike Carpinito, Mesara Family Foundation, Richard Pierce, Terry Rathert, Richard Crawford, TW Howell, Dean Retzleff, Kevin & Tuesdy Small & Kyle Small.

Take One Put One Back donors to date are noted and recognized with the number of wild sheep they’ve “put back” in the graphic below.

With the support of First Lady of Indiana Janet Holcomb, WSF also raised $12,820 from appeals to support our Women Hunt® program engage and foster more women into the hunting and conservation community. Generous donations were made by Mike Mechenbier, Anonymous, Kevin Hurley, Tim Fallon, David Nelson— Nelson Outfitters, Julie Chapman, Jim Craig, Conner Schantz and Mark Springer.

WSF is grateful for this very generous support and salutes these fine members and partners.
