International Association of Wildland Fire

The International Association of Wildland Fire unites, leads, and influences international and regional wildland fire management through its global networks of knowledge and learning, its international partnerships, and its community of committed members.

The IAWF is built on the belief that an understanding of fire is vital for natural and cultural resource management: for firefighter safety for community preparedness and protection for harmonious interaction between people and their environment

OUR HISTORY

Established in 1990 as a non-profit professional association with founding goals:

To representthe global wildfire community

Tosupport wildland fire professionals and practitioners worldwide with knowledge on natural resource management

To create a network of professionals and practitioners who work in planning, managing, executing, studying, educating, and administering wildland fires
