Wetland Botany Plant Adaptations
For this activity, find a plant to examine and make observations about! If you can, head outside to look for one. If not, use a potted indoor plant, or a picture of a plant.
Observation: Observe your plant. Look for any adaptations it appears to have. What do its leaves look like? How tall is it? Describe interesting features on your plant or draw it in the space below.
Challenges: Based on your observations, what kind of challenges do you think your plant faces? Extreme weather? Flooding? List or draw out some of the challenges you think your plant experiences.
Extended Thinking: How do the adaptations you observed in your plant help it survive the external challenges you listed?
