HERPETOLOGY: REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS This week we are starting an exploration of Reptiles and Amphibians! These two groups of animals are studied in the field of Herpetology. In the video, we were introduced to some of the Herps that live at The Wild Center, but there are many more found here in the Adirondacks and beyond. Your challenge this week is to start thinking about these awesome animals by taking some time examine your favorite species!
STEP 1 - Who am I? Can you identify the animals to the right? Which ones are Reptiles and which ones are Amphibians?
STEP 2 - Think about your favorite Reptile or Amphibian: What is it?
Take a minute to write down a little bit about what it looks like?
STEP 3 - Time to get creative! Draw or make a Model of your Reptile or Amphibian. Make sure to include some of their key features that you have just brainstormed.
STEP 4 - Describe your animal: Take a few minutes to write a short story or description of your reptile or amphibian.
BONUS: Take a picture of your reptile and amphibian creations to send to schoolprograms@wildcenter.org for a chance for us to feature your work!
