Bachelor’s Thesis - sky and it’s impact.
These are visualizations of my Bachelor’s Thesis - the main idea behind this building was to make it ‘disappear’ in the surrounding area. It is very hard to make an image pop, when the main subject is supposed to stay hidden, so naturally I decided to shift the viewer’s attention to the environment. The biggest change came with the sky.
This is how the raw render looked - it wasn’t bad, but it certainly lacked something.
I decided to leave it alone and give it some timeand then it hit me. The sky was the problem! It was dull, gray and uninteresting.
I started to play with it by changing into something more expressive - below are some of the options I thought about. All the other components were decent enough to keep in the final version. It only goes to show how changing only one thing can result in much greater impact.
Mobile House- atmosphere counts.
Set of images made for a design of mobile housesthe main idea was to show the building in the hill-like environment to capture places in which those houses would be used most frequently. At the same time the project served as the lighting study.
The scene used collectively three different HDRI’s, each for specific scenario: Dark evening, foggish afternoon and golden sunset.
First commercial work that helped me understand the basic workflow when it comes to crafting images and the step by step process, while also providing an insight on how to communicate with clients.
Nature’s
Overtaking - greenery with a twist.
With this personal project, the main focus was to create a very atmospheric picture – while also using advanced greenery materials to provide maximum impact with little to no resources.
The scene contains only 2 tree models: one that is placed by hand and copied in the foreground, second with complex material – scattered in the background. The way the material works is with each instance of a scattered tree, it randomly picks desired amount of leaves from a model (within a previously set range) and then hides them. The leaves that are approaching empty branches, slightly turn color to simulate how trees are ‘worn out’.
