This house style I think fits my personality, is more modern and sophisticated with a touch of simplicity, still resembling aesthetic touches. Cultural values are not yet seem to be lost because you can always add a sense of you to your house through decorative aspects. I think one way I would to these without losing the significance of my house style is changing the color of my house. The major distinction between these modern houses is that they are painted white, and I want mine to change a bit by painting with some neutral color such as beige or gray. This would still keep the same format of the house, but will add something unique about me to the house and it would show it to

Descriptive Essay About My Dream House

My beach house

How do you picture your dream house? Well, I have always had a fancy picture in my head of my dream house. I want an extravagant, simple, nice sized house located on the beach somewhere in Florida like the one I visited last year.

The view is amazing. The palm trees dancing in the wind. The waves rolling, slowly coming to a stop. The golden sand spreads softly as it emerges with the clear water. The crystalblue water spread miles and miles upon the beautiful sea bringing in many sea creatures. The red ants in the sand glared at the pink toenail polish on my feet. As the golden orange sunset, all the different types of people began to watch it. Hundreds of people reflect off the orangey, sparkling, water reminding me of a scene in the Lion King. People of all races are amazed as the sun sets. Across from the dock, there is a colorful lady with pink and purple sunglasses arguing with a 6tf tall man for blocking her view. As the sunset continues, big black bugs start to fly ready to reclaim their home. The smell was extremely interesting. The aroma of saltwater, sweat, dirty kids, and animal poop takes control of the air. Although, the smell is not as pleasant as I expected; it does not take away from the extraordinary experience. The further went from the beach, the smell started to disappear. As we reach the beach house , the smell of Bath and Body Works sweet pea candles emerge from the lantern shaped oil warmers. A few feet down for the oil warmers lie a

As I am walking home from school I take the time to look around my surroundings. Leaves a variety of reds, oranges and yellows descend from the trees and encase the ground like a blanket. The wind begins to pick up, building miniature vortexes with the leaves and dropping them off to their new locations. There is not much to Stowe, Vermont: a couple of convenience stores, a few diners scattered, parks and widely spaces houses that stretch down for a few miles. Extravagant would not be the leading word to describe this town, but I love it nonetheless. I continue to walk, admiring the aura of my surrounding, a few minutes pass and my house becomes a clear view. As I ascend the steps I swing my backpack off my shoulders and dig through a...show more content...

"So, the town meeting is tomorrow, we need to decide on our answer," "There is not much to discuss, we cannot say yes to the contractors, I will not watch this town fall to the money greed people" my father responds with a firm tone. I still can't process what's been going on these pasts few weeks. A couple of weeks ago, some contractors came into town looking to buy it off and build it into a huge downtown complex for the surrounding cities. These has been going on for the past few years, one by one like Russian roulette, a town is picked off and turned into what my father calls a "super city," over the top houses, business buildings and shopping areas are built in hopes of making a profit off of them. What makes this situation even worse is that it wasn't really forced upon us, the towns had a choice has on whether or not they wanted to have their little upgrade. How can someone do that? Money has consumed the thoughts of many and has influenced others to make decisions that they probably will regret in the future and it worries me. I have a feeling that tomorrow, many will say yes and we'll lose this town forever, but I will not let that happen. I physically cannot sit at the meeting tomorrow and watch the people of this town devalue it in hopes of finding satisfaction in the money. Tired, I excuse myself from the table, I throw my plate in the sink and walk back to my

"A SIKH" In the living room, the cuckoo clock said, "Ticktock, seven–thirty o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven–thirty o'clock!" As if the cuckoo clock is afraid, nobody, in the house would wake up. The living room is like a perfect, black and white, cover. I had always been afraid to sit, in the living room, in case I wrinkle the fabric or stain it. The couch is cream but inlaid with a fine green silk, and leaves embroidered so delicately that they might have landed there in spring and just sunk in, but I know they took hundreds of hours to sew. The black curtains are linen, the kind of black that is untouched by hands and devoid of dust. A cursory look to the right shows me the almost hidden cords that are used to open and close them. In the living room, there is no television, no dining table, only the chairs arranged around the bespoke fireplace which leaps with a gas flame. The photographs are black and white, not casual family pictures, but arranged to look like such by a professional, anyone of them wouldn't look out of place. The floor is a high polished wood, dark and free of either dust or clutter. I always felt like this was my home. "I belong here." The sound of the cuckoo clock saying,"Ticktock, seven–thirty o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven–thirty o'clock!" Repeating in my mind. The early morning sun was already well risen, and the spring grass shone like it had its own gentle glow from within. The breeze from the open window felt

What I Call Home

In life everyone has their own dreams, whether it be about cars, houses, or their career. Most people I know dream to have the biggest and luxurious houses but I was always satisfied with mine. My house is not a tiny apartment nor a huge mansion but a two story, plain brown brick cozy house with white painted doors. The front yard is decorated with beautiful flowers; roses, lilies, violets, dahlias, daisies and much more, my mother usually plant them. She says, "Flowers are a pleasure and perfection of nature, and they give many things to people, and it does not matter if you are rich or poor, they give you a wonderful world which makes you feel happy". It definitely makes her and our neighbors happy. She shares the...show more content... After dinner, majority of the time everyone goes out or straight to theirrooms but occasionally we'll sit in the living room and watch television together. My living room is probably the coziest place in my house. The walls are partially decorated with pieces of wood. It resembles the interior of a cottage. There are four black leather couches and a wooden coffee table that sits in the middle. My mother usually makes tea or coffee for us. She'll also bring out a bowl of sliced fruits, nuts and put it on the coffee table. After watching a movie or soap opera on satellite, everyone goes to their room and gets ready for bed. In the mornings when I wake up, the first thing I tend to do is step outside to my backyard to get a nice fresh air. My backyard is fairly big, also one of the main reasons why my parents decided to buy it. There's a little slide door in the dining room that leads to a dark brown deck. You'll see a green patio table, chairs and a barbecue. Also, in the corner of my backyard you'll see a small portion of the yard fenced. That's my mothers garden, where she grows tomatoes, peppers, onions, eggplants, parsley, lettuce, strawberries, cucumbers and many others that I can't recall. Both my dad and my mom love to grow organic vegetables and fruits. Around my backyard you'll also see a raspberry bush, pear, peach, cherry, apricot,

The Living Room in the back of my house has taught me to laugh at myself, to appreciate all that I have, and that while places may look different throughout time we are the ones who decide if that place holds a meaning to us despite its changes. My living room is a chapter of how my home in dry, flat, and hot Texas has affected who I am today and how I tell my story. The neighborhood I live in has this certain atmosphere, that once you turn on to our old grave like roads, you feel safe and at home. At the entrance you are welcomed by a park that reminds me of Sunday afternoons and sticky ice cream hands. My house sits in the middle of the neighborhood where at one end you've found yourself near the park and the other end you find yourself in the edge of a busy road surrounded by corner stores and our local grocery store. My box like house seemed as though parties were always occurring, but without the cars lined up and down the street, everyone around us quickly figured out that almost the entire Mondragon family had moved into the same neighborhood. Inside my house there are two living rooms. The first one is by the front door, it has mahogany floors, cream colored couches that are as soft as silk, and a round glass dinner table. This living room quickly became just for decoration. The real magic happens in the back of the house where my second living room with white tiles and ugly couches sit. The tiles were always smooth, shiny, and it always felt like you were stepping

Descriptive Essay About My House

As I opened the way to the dreadful old frequented house on my road, I began to surmise that perhaps this wasn't such a smart thought. I admonished myself for needing to turn back, and reluctantly ventured inside to investigate. The hardwood flooring around it composed immaculately with the covering, which came roughly 33% of the path up the exquisite gold–painted divider. The tremendous picture window was confined by a custom bureau with a smorgasbord coming to simply beneath the windowsill. When you step into my room, the first thing you will notice is the golden afternoon sunlight fluttering in and dancing around because of the large sycamore trees outside my window. The window is fairly large, as my house is a Cape Cod style home. The reason for the window being so large is that it is one of the primary dormer windows on the second floor that front the street. The window is also set in alcove that is approximately two feet deep, and is framed with white wooden shutters on both sides. I have always been a very optimistic and happy person, and this large window letting in the golden light of nature is a fantastic representation of my personality. After taking notice of the soft afternoon light in my room, you will notice two shelves on either side of the alcove They are painted a crisp white color and contain a slightly wavy pattern of carved wood around the border. You can feel the smooth undulations along the border by slowly moving your hand along the wood. Perched upon these two sets of shelves are various items from my childhood, old books, books that I am reading, and photos that I have taken to showcase my photography work. I am an amateur coastal photographer and take pride in displaying my work on my shelves. It has always been important to me to take pride in my best work. My dream house is a giant mansion in the HollyWood hills. The outside is covered in marble walls and complex designs. As you step step up to the golden gates of the property, you are instantly greeted with the sight of a giant 50 foot building laying in front of an enormous lake. As you approach the lake, you can see as the water moves gracefully with the warm Spring wind. Once you approach the edge of the lake, if you look to the right you will see a massive field of roses and many rare flowers. If turn around and walk away from the lake and move to the left of the building you will be greeted with the sight of a giant 60 foot 200–year–old palm tree with coconuts near its top.

After you finish observing the left and back of the house, you move to the right side of the house. Once you make the long walk from the palm tree to the right side of the beautiful building, you will see a giant ramp flanked by walls to it's right and left side, leading to a garage door 35 feet wide. The garage door appears to be made of some type of strong metal, titanium. As you walk down the ramp to the door, you can see a panel on the right wall. As you approach this panel, you will soon realize that it's the way to open the door to said garage. But you will also realize that the panel requires a face scan of the owner, friends, or family of the house.

I sat there, with the dark, cold sand running through my fingers. My sisters running through the tall, sharp grass as if it weren't even there. At the river bank, my parents were talking with a man who I had never seen before. Behind them, I could see the sun setting though the trees, the orange, pink and yellow colors reflecting off of the river. The massive maple, hickory and pine trees cast shadows onto the abandoned sandlot, the sandlot that would soon be purchased by my parents, and turned into my new home. The one story, three bedrooms, and one bath house we are living in would soon be packed away and brought to the new house. This house was just that, a house. I considered this house a place where I would eat, sleep, and do my homework at. I shared a room and a bed with my youngest sister, while my oldest and second youngest sister shared the other. I see the kitchen closet is overflowing with pots and pans, again. The kitchen has a polished wooden floor easy to slip on if you're wearing socks. Our kitchen is small, but big enough to put items on the shining counter. I looked out to our backyard, I spot some fluffy looking white bunnies hopping along, eating the carrots I left out for them. I dragged my body down the long hallway to my mother and father's room. I complain, "This house doesn't have enough space!" My parents look at each other with a depressed look and sigh, " We need to find a new house." The next morning it was a Saturday, I got dressed in so comfortable clothes and headed towards the living room. I sat on the light brown colored couch. In my dream, I am in a small boat in rough waters. It is a dark night, with a full moon, dark clouds filling the horizon. I am sitting in a small wooden boat in the ocean or large lake. I cannot see land in any direction. The waters are rough, with large waves rocking the boat. The waves are so rough they are causing water is spray into my face. I am afraid that the boat will tip over and I will drown. I hold on to the sides with both hands. Suddenly up ahead I can see large rocks in the water, large waves crashing against the dark gray slick sides. My boat is going to hit them. Suddenly I am traveling between the rocks standing stark and cold on both sides. My small boat travels between several of them and into a rushing river. I am full of dread, I will certainly sink and drown. I travel down the rushing river. There are high, dark cliffs on both sides. In the distance I can see the cliffs ending and the river disappearing out of my sight. As I travel closer and closer I can hear the sounds of a waterfall. I travel down the river, between the cliffs and over a large waterfall. I fall from a great height, walking up in my bed, still filling as though I will drown. Working With The Dream A small boat in rough water feels like I am out of control. Control is an allusion. It is dark and I do not know where I am or where I am going. I am in a small boat alone like life that is sometimes solitary and must be traveled alone. Life can sometimes feel rough Get

Everyone has a "dream house", they just rely on your opinions and beliefs. You can have a modern dream house, or maybe a vintage dream house. You can also either live in the woods, in the city, or even right by the beach! You can be by yourself, or you can have lots and lots of roommates. You can have lots of neighbors, or maybe even none at all! You could live off of a mountain, or maybe on a paved street. First of all, my house would be in the woods, away from everyone else. I would also live in a modern looking log cabin. It has always been a dream of mine to live in a log cabin. I also want to live in a modern house, so if you mix the two together, that would just be perfect for me. I think that if you live in the woods, which is secluded from everyone else, with a few friends, life would be perfect. My house would be a two story, modern looking log cabin with lights all around the outside so it would look beautiful at night. I would also have 4 roommates. They would all be my best friends and we would have lots and lots of fun in our house. My roommates' names are Kian, Jc, Franny, and Bobby. They are all people that I would have the most fun living with. Kian, Jc, and Bobby are all boys while Franny and I would be the only girls. Sometimes, two guys named Harrison and Anderson would live with us for about a month to two months at a time. They would also be really fun to live with, and would basically be roommates. I have always been an enthusiast of beauty, especially while growing up. I have had a good taste in clothing, hairstyles, and most importantly, I have always looked up to beautiful people. My dream was to look beautiful and be an icon. I did not know that this passion I had for aesthetics would grow each day to make me an environmentalist. The taste I had for beauty was being nurtured for the environment. My parents were fascinated by the manner in which I started doing house chores by my own. On a frosted dewy morning, the sun peeked over the horizon, introducing a myriad of joyful colors to the fresh sky. A hummingbird buzzed around the wooden porch swing that I sat on, making the beginning of this day seem nearly magical. In the distance, you could see my family's herd of horses galloping across our two–hundred acres of rolling hills and deep valleys. The scene depicted is just another spring sunrise in the little town of Cascade, Montana, viewed from the magnificent house I once called home, before everything changed. Our little slice of heaven was bought when I was purchased by my dad when I was 6 years old, and he thought it would be the perfect place to build my mom's dream house. From magazine cut–outs to episodes of home remodeling shows from TLC, my mom had already planned her beautiful abode. My dad drew the blueprints and hired workers to assist him in the construction, along with my six brothers. Together, as afamily, we built a home grander than any that my mom had seen on TLC, one that was tailored to our needs, built on the love of the Osbornes. For five years, that foundation of love thrived, until the night it all came crashing down.

On a chilly October night, my mom woke up all the kids and instructed each of us to pack enough clothes for a week. When asked why, she simply told us we'd be going on vacation, for no more than a couple weeks. I packed for a vacation, bringing a couple pairs of shoes and seven outfits, along with some toiletries. I observed my mom curiously as she walked to the pantry and began stuffing canned goods into a bag, clumsily and a little directionless. I thought nothing of it, and continued packing. As we drove away from our home, I longingly gazed out the window of our motorhome. While I didn't know what was happening, I knew there was something off. So, I took in the sight of my home, illuminated from the inside by the crystal chandelier in the entryway, and lit on the outside by the full moon that shone bright enough to see an object twenty feet away. It would be months before I'd finally see what was really happening, that my parents were separating. The months began when we reached Oklahoma, and we lived in our motorhome, in my uncle's backyard. House

There is one thing that is common in most small, rural Southern towns; appliances on the porch. From deep–freezers to washing machines, if there's not room in the house you can guarantee there is room on the porch and an extension cord long enough to plug it in. No one thinks it's unusual as everyone in the neighborhood does it. That's especially true for the humble, one–stop–light town I was brought up in. The house I lived in my entire childhood had a deep–freezer on the back porch; my second cousin, who lived next door, had a wringerwashing machine on her front porch. That washing machine would lead to an incident involving a shotgun, scissors, a trip to the ER and a lifetime of jokes. One beautiful late summer day, I was at my cousin's house. We were both 10 years–old so we often roamed our countrified neighborhood together. We'd ride bikes up and down the road, explore the woods behind our houses and go swimming in the local swimming hole; affectionately called the Cold Hole by the locals. However, this day, we were at her house enjoying the temperate weather and glasses of chilled sweet tea while waiting for dinnertime.

My cousin's mom (my first cousin) was in love with this old wringer washing machine. She used it all the time and refused to buy anything newer. We had been cautioned several times to stay away from the wringers, as it could "eat" our fingers or hands. Unlike most 10–year–olds, we listened to this rule. Except for today. Now I couldn't tell you what

I desire to have magnificent gardens surrounding my house. The front garden should be full of flowers, bushes and fruit trees. The scent of flowers and fruit trees mixed in the air reminds me of heavenly moments filled with happiness and joy. The back garden should be very large so that I can have a lawn with a swimming pool. In addition, there would be another lawn which comes up to the patio. There would also be a flower bed near the back door and a path leading to the garden shed and the greenhouse, where I'd like to grow my own tomatoes, green peppers, parsleys, eggplants. Besides, there would be a large cage filled with different species of birds like peacocks or parrots. I'd let the door of the cage be open all the time for freedom is very important for me.
