Like a modern Formula 1 racing car, building design and engineering must succeed in obtaining increasingly better performance despite increasingly severer restrictions. One of the greatest restrictions is compliance with the ecological and energy saving norms for buildings, which the modern building trade meets through thermal insulation. Secco Sistemi puts its designers in conditions to comply with these requirements in the window/door frame sector with the SeccoEbe Thermal Break, which allows the insulation values laid down by the new and strict standards to be achieved. In addition to its special technology ensuring perfect insulation, SeccoEbe Thermal Break is the only system that allows frames to be made with superior materials such as galvanised steel, stainless steel, Cor-Ten steel and copper alloy whether alone or combined in the same frame, to ensure greater design and engineering freedom.

GUARANTEED PERFORMANCE

S E C C O E B E I N S U L AT I O N T E C H N O LO G Y

The performance of the SeccoEbe Thermal-Break System, tested by the best European Certification Laboratories in accordance with the reference standard EN 14351-1, is more than adequate for being issued the EC certification for window/door frames.

In the SeccoEbe Thermal Break the sections are bonded together using two materials: the first is a fibreglass reinforced extruded polyamide and the second a high-density polyurethane resin injected under high pressure, which firmly unite the two metal parts. This technology ensures continuous connection and consequent insulation with no gap in seal and guarantees maximum torsional and flexural strength.

· · · · · ·

Air, wind and water - the system for windows with weep and central gasket allows maximum performance values to be achieved up to class E1050 (1050 Pascal of pressure). Strength and durability - the use of approved fittings and the structural strength of the sections and joints ensure perfect operation for the whole envisaged lifecycle of scheduled use (opening/closing, torsional stress and yield). Sound insulation - the presence of seals and rebate gaskets plus the possibility of fitting very thick glass allow the design acoustic values to be achieved. Thermal insulation - the special system for joining the steel shells without any thermal bridges results in heat transmission rates or U-values of up to 1.4 W/m2k. Bullet resistance - the specific configuration of the internal chambers allows ballistic steel sheets to be inserted, which, depending on their thickness, allows the highest ballistic resistance to be achieved to standard EN 1522. Burglar resistance - thanks to the structurally sturdier frame, a simple change of hardware allows the system to meet all values of burglar resistance required by ENV 1627.

FLEXIBILITY AND COMPLETENESS OF THE SYSTEM

SeccoEbe is an integrated system of 65 or 73.5 mm thermal-break sections, fittings and glazing gaskets, with which rectangular, shaped or arched doors and windows may be made with very slender frames overall. Seals are ensured by a double gasket system for the doors and a triple weatherstrip with weep system for the windows. Each type of window or door comes with the relative approved fittings integrated into the system.

ADVANTAGES OF SISTEMA SECCOEBE IN GALVANISED STEEL

Better insulation for more slender frames The SeccoEbe System in galvanised steel ensures best thermal insulation for slim yet structurally strong and totally distortion-free frames, the design of which would be impossible if it were not for steel.

Wide choice of finishes for old and new frames The possibility of finishing the frame surfaces with a wide choice of finishes and colours makes the SeccoEbe System in Galvanised Steel the most popular choice either for replacing old steel frames in restoration work or for adding a touch of colour in modern surroundings.

Easy assembly The precise size of the sections ensuring perfect assembly of the frames by welding plus the simple way in which the system fittings are inserted into the special accessory groove make the fitter’s work easier.

FINISH: G A LVA N I S E D S T E E L Semi-finished or galvanised products, after further passivation, may be used in the natural state in environments that are not particularly aggressive.

FINISH: PA I N T E D G A LVA N I S E D S T E E L After the transformation process the semi-finished or finished product is given a finish in any of the RAL colours or special colours, through application of the pre-treatment-cataphoresis-polyester powders cycle.

ADVANTAGES OF SISTEMA SECCOEBE IN STAINLESS STEEL

Better insulation and protection against external agents The SeccoEbe System in stainless steel combines the high structural sturdiness and weathering resistance of stainless steel with the heat and sound insulating properties of the SeccoEbe thermal break.

Three different finishes for more design freedom

FINISH: P O L I S H E D S TA I N L E S S S T E E L

The SeccoEbe System in stainless steel hides its strength behind 3 different finishes: classic, well-defined and mirror-like Polished, Scotch-Brite obtained by light brushing that dims the surface shine and Satin obtained with stronger brushing resulting in a slightly rougher and darker feel. Three extra tools for extra design ideas.

Easy assembly The precise size of the sections ensures perfect frame composition by welding as well as faster construction by mechanical assembly. The “prefinished” sections (in Scotch-Brite, satin or polished finish protected by tear-off film) plus the simple way in which the system fittings are inserted into the special accessory groove also make the fitter’s work easier.

ADVANTAGES OF SISTEMA SECCOEBE IN COR-TEN STEEL

Better insulation and exclusive aesthetic values Frames in SeccoEbe System in Cor-Ten steel offer today’s designers an extra tool for innovation thanks to the use of Cor-Ten, a material that ensures outstanding aesthetic results, combined with the heat and sound insulation of the SeccoEbe thermal break.

Structural sturdiness and corrosion resistance Apart from the uniqueness of its aesthetic features and higher structural strength, Cor-Ten also ensures 10 times more corrosion resistance than normal steels even in critical situations.

Easy assembly The precise size of the sections ensures perfect frame composition by welding as well as faster construction by mechanical assembly. The “prefinished” sections with oxidised finish plus the simple way in which the system fittings are inserted into the special accessory groove also make the fitter’s work easier.

FINISH The sections in Cor-Ten steel may be supplied in their natural state or pre-oxidised with a protective patina, which shortens the time period when chalking could occur at the end of stabilisation.

ADVANTAGES OF SISTEMA SECCOEBE IN BRONZOFINESTRA

Better insulation and more structural strength The SeccoEbe System in Bronzofinestra not only gives a typically warm and glowing colour of old bronze but also better heat insulation to slim yet structurally strong frames whether used to defer to the historic and formal values of a work or for innovative solutions.

The colours of old bronze and corrosion resistance The system is available in two different finishes, polished and burnished, which both ensure excellent performance when used even in hostile environments such as by the sea, given the high corrosion resistance.

Fittings and easy assembly The system fittings have been specially designed to avoid formation of a galvanic cell. The Bronzofinestra sections may be machined with the same equipment used for aluminium. The precise size of the sections ensures faster frame construction by mechanical assembly. The “prefinished” sections with burnished or polished finish plus the simple way in which the system fittings are inserted into the special accessory groove also make the fitter’s work easier

FINISH: BURNISHED BRONZOFINESTRA After the transformation process, the sections or finished materials undergo mechanical cleaning with abrasive and then burnishing by dipping in order to acquire the warm shade of old bronze.

FINISH: POLISHED BRONZOFINESTRA After the transformation process, the sections or finished materials undergo mirror polishing, which gives the alloy its golden splendour.
