The narrative communicated, through the ironic use of the word ‘Heirloom’, meaning both something passed down and preserved types of vegetables, is a story of how generational impact of parenthood and kinship influences every individual and myself as a designer. The concept is mainly the connections of family through knowledge that is condensing and intertwining from generation to generation.

As the 4th generation of a family buiness I undertsand, on a personal level, the importance of connection between extended and close family and how it effects a persons life. My experience with design will always depend apon the way in which I have been brought up within the environment of my family’s fruit shop.

Angelina Hondroyiannis is an illustrator, photographer, creative director, designer, and stylist. She is an accomplished stylist and designer studying creative direction and styling. Previously living on an acreage and working at her family’s fruit shop, of three generations, before studying in Sydney, she has a deep connection to country and family life. Currently her work has developed to display this, through the development of skills in illustrative line work, material and colour combination, editorial layout, photography and styling. Passions deriving from constant influence of both rural and urban life is a main factor in her work, and through this influence displays the contrast and harmony in flora and fauna versus metals and technology.
