Recently the board of White Horse Missions approved a new position entitledDirectorofLatinAmericaOperations. Wearethrilledtoannounce thatwehaveaskedGideonOwenstofillthatpositionalongwithhiswife Emma.
GideonhasbeenonnumeroustripswithusbeforeandEmmahasbeen as well. Gideon graduated from North Greenville University with a bachelors in Missions. He later went on and recieved his Masters in MissionsfromSoutheasternBaptistSeminary. ThispositionwillbeahandsonpositioninCentralAmericawhereEmma andGideonwillworkwithourpastors,churches,andseminaries. Wefeel Gideon and Emma are called and ready for this position. We are extremelyexcitedtowelcomethemtotheteam.
ThecurrentplanhasthemleavingasearlyasJanuary2026toaslateas May2026. ThemajordecidingfactoronthistimelineisVisastatus. They alsowillbeattendinglanguageschoolandraisingsupportbeforetheygo. White Horse Missions was blessed to serve Iglesia Oasis in Liberia, Costa Rica. First Baptist/Upstate Church partnered with us to buildamulti-purposeroomontothechildren’s Sundayschoolbuilding.Weputaroofonitand pouredthefloorinit.Thisadditionwillbeused forextraclassroomspaceaswellasforspecial eventsforthechurch.

LastweekwehadthechancetoworkwithFBCof San Juan Cancuc to pour the floor in their new church. They have been meeting in a very small church adjacent to the new building. The old churchwascrowdedwithseatingforabout40-50 people. The new church will seat approximately 175-200people.FBS/UCprovidedmoneytoputthe roof on and it was installed two weeks ago. This week the team manually hauled tons (literally) of filldirtandgraveltolevelthefloorandcompactit. Thentheypouredthefloorusingaconcretemixer and wheelbarrows. It was an incredible effort, but working together with more than twenty of our brothers from the church, it was done very well. Thanks to each team member and to FBS/UC for once again supporting this effort to work among indigenouspeoplegroupsinMexico.

Prayforthemissionpastorsthatweareworkingwithorhaveworkedwith in Chiapas Mexico. Miguel in San Cristobal de las Casas; Enrique in Chenalho;RobertoinMajomut;AlbertoinColtutec,XavierinTenejapaand Antonio in San Juan Cancuc. These guys speak either Tzeltal or Tsoltsil and Spanish. They work among indigenous people groups in southern Mexico. Also, pray for Dr Omar Nicolas and Manuel as they lead the missionefforthere.Thisisahardareatoworkinbecausetheyaredealing withanimismandsyncretismonadailybasis.Christianityisrelativelynew hereandtheworkisslow.However,eachofthesebrothersiscommitted tospreadingthegoodnewsofsalvationthroughJesus.
PrayforEsther,oneofthemissionarieswesupport,sherecentlyfellgetting outofthevanasshewasworkingwithusinMexico. Shewillhavetohave surgurysoon.
