BUSINESS BRIEFS Familiar face on weight loss commercial Recognize the face on the new Medifast commercial? Cheryl Sievert, owner of The Mane Tease salon, filmed the TV commercial for the weight control center, which features success stories in the 15- and 30-second spots. The White Bear Lake resident (Mahtomedi grad) and longtime downtown business owner has lost 32 pounds on the program. “They asked me if I’d be interested to shoot a commercial and I thought it sounded Cheryl Sievert like fun. As it got closer, I got more nervous,” she said. Filming was done at KSTP studio in Minneapolis. There was no script, Sievert just answered questions. She got some new clothes out of the deal — which was good, as most of the things in her closet are too big — and free meals. The weight loss has made her a new person. “I feel great,” she said. “It’s amazing how I don’t have aches and pains anymore. It changes the way you think.” The commercial is running on three Twin Cities channels: 4, 5 and 9.

Monday through Friday, the coffee shop/ bagel spot will open at 5 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. Weekend openings are 6 a.m. "We are really excited to open the new location," Draves said, "and the community seems excited to have the drive-thru back."
