The Mavericks Saturday, November 23 I Sunoco Performance Theater, 8pm Fusing traditional country with traditional rock & roll – The Mavericks are back. The country-steeped garage band, which emerged in 1989, reunited in 2012 after an eight-year hiatus. Two decades have passed since their polyrhythmic brand of post-modern country gave the world: All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down, Here Comes The Rain, and Dance The Night Away. The Mavericks have captured the infectious energy and robust sound from their live shows on their new release, In Time. Songs including Dance In The Moonlight, Born To Be Blue, Back In Your Arms Again, and All Over Again – proof the Mavericks continue to created genre-defying soul music. For lead singer Raul Malo; drummer Paul Deakin; multi-instrumentalist Robert Reynolds; longtime collaborator keyboardist Jerry Dale McFadden; and seasoned guitarist Eddie Perez, life has become richer in a sense of their own musicality. It has also deepened the connection between the band, in a way that heightens the chemistry, which made the Grammy®-winning band – one of the most exciting live acts in any musical genre. The Machine Wednesday, November 27 I Sunoco Performance Theater, 7:30pm Hailed for their flawless execution, the New York-based band The Machine is America’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band. Their performances showcase Pink Floyd’s enormous legacy through a multi-dimensional approach. During their 20-plus year career, The Machine has gained worldwide success, touring throughout North America, Central America, the Middle East and Europe. In 2009, the band’s concert DVD, Live In Amsterdam, received prominent coverage from msnbc.com. "It’s been very rewarding for us to travel all over the country and internationally – having the honor to present the musical experience of Pink Floyd to newer fans who never had the option of seeing Pink Floyd in concert,” said drummer Todd Cohen. The Machine's latest album release, The Symphonic Side of the Moon (2011), is a richly layered rendition of Pink Floyd's seminal album, Dark Side of the Moon, performed with a full symphony orchestra. The members of The Machine include founding members Joe Pascarell (guitar, vocals) and Tahrah Cohen (drums), and longtime stage mates Ryan Ball (bass, vocals) and Scott Chasolen (keys, vocals).
