LAURA HAGY KLINIK JUBILEE, KLINIK SOCIAL WORKER Favorite things to do in Pittsburgh: Two things I miss the most, since I work in Haiti, are movies and brunch. When I am back in Pittsburgh, I can usually be found catching up on movies at Manor Theatre in Squirrel Hill or spending weekends walking through the Strip District with friends. Favorite people to go with: I love spending time with my friends and family when I come home to Pittsburgh. For me, the best part of coming back to America is seeing my closest friends, all the people who support my work, and the family that hosts me during my stay. They have taken me in and allowed me to become part of their own family, and spending time with them refreshes me to continue my work. 42

NOAH’S EVENT VENUE OF CRANBERRY & SOUTHPOINTE, EVENT COORDINATOR Favorite things to do and places to go in Pittsburgh: When I’m not planning events at NOAH’S Event Venue, you can catch me brunching in the city with my friends from grad school, or out and about with a local photographer working on personal content and collaborating with content creators in the city. Being from Myrtle Beach, S.C., I normally spend my free time reading, working out, and hanging out with friends on the beach, but since my move to Pittsburgh, you can usually find me kayaking on the river, shopping local in the Strip District, or on a boat on Cheat Lake in Morgantown, W.V. (where my in-laws live). I love being in a city where it’s just enough “city” to explore, yet suburban enough to make me feel like I’m not too far away from home. I’m a self-proclaimed foodie, so I’m always looking and trying out new restaurants, coffee shops, and local eateries. Favorite people to go with: When I was in grad school at Duquesne University, I was in a cohort of 13 other people who I studied with year-round. Most of my friends have settled here in Pittsburgh, so anytime there’s an event going on in the city, you’ll find me hanging out with my familiar crew from graduate school who have now become my family. I’ve also met a ton of friends through other photographers and artists in the area, so I’m always looking to establish relationships with like-minded young adults in the city.
