WHO WE ARE While overlanding has been an area of continued and growing interest, it’s old hat for us and we couldn’t be more excited to share that passion and knowledge with a broader audience. We know what it takes to tackle Australia’s rugged Simpson Desert or explore backcountry routes across the United States from Maine to Georgia, Washington to Baja del Sur and every bit of dirt in between. Over the past few years, WH inc. has built a portfolio of some of the best brands within the overland and outdoor industries. 3D 2.0 onX has released the next generation of its 3D maps in the Web App. This view features a richer and faster viewing experience and new functionality. Users can now see all their custom markups (Tracks, Waypoints, and Lines), as well as public land designations, in 3D mode. Elite users can also view public and private land designations in 3D too.
3RD PARTY NAVIGATION BOUNCE OUT GO & TRACK What was “Tracker” is now Go & Track. This real-time tracking functionality allows users to see their mph, average speed, direction of travel, distance mileage, elapsed time, compass, and elevation card all at their fingertips. The map itself tilts to give a better perspective while driving, with fewer on-screen distractions. Think of this as GPS navigation for off-roaders!
The ability for a user to identify a destination (such as a trailhead or fuel station), and navigate to it by using a user’s default navigation app on their phone or tablet. No more copy/paste of coordinates nonesense. A simple button on all Waypoint cards, map query cards, trail cards, and point-of-interest cards will “bounce” the user out to Google or Apple Maps, for example, to navigate on pavement to a known destination.
