The school is located in a building that was built in the 1950s but has since been transformed into a vibrant and dynamic facility, having won prestigious awards from the World Architecture Festival and Sil (Lisbon’s most important Real Estate show) within its first year of opening.
Our goal is to provide all students with an exceptional international education with a global perspective, rooted in British educational values, in a safe, welcoming and happy international environment.
The renovation project did not spare any costs or effort in creating large, spacious, and light-filled classrooms for students while focusing on the latest network system architecture. The award-winning façade has been maintained while refurbishing the interior to accommodate various improvements and architectural features like “open ceilings,” large windows, and open spaces. It has 6,500 sqm (71,000 sq ft) of fabulous outdoor spaces created for sport and outdoor play for the different age groups and will have a further 2,000 sqm (22,000 sq ft) of sports-related facilities in the future. United Lisbon’s STEAM program and facilities are second to none, having light-filled classrooms and corridors, state-of-the-art Science Laboratories, Art Rooms, a technology Maker Space, and a modern library.
United Lisbon International School has partnered with Fieldwork Education to become the first school in Portugal to offer the (IEYC) International Early Years Curriculum for students aged 3 to 5 years old, used by over 500 schools worldwide, and the (IPC) International Primary Curriculum for students aged 6 to 11 years old. This programme leads into the International Middle Year Curriculum (IMYC) for ages 11 to 14. Central to these programmes is the commitment to holistic development of learners through enjoyable and connected academic, personal, and international learning that prepares them for opportunities and challenges now and in the future.
The curriculum aims to address academic excellence, personal and social development, and health and well-being. Students are taught by a highly qualified, experienced educational team, recruited from other well-known international schools abroad and locally.
Furthermore, the school is connected to a variety of outside institutions to ensure enriching experiences for afterschool activities.
United Lisbon International School provides education for the 21st century, seamlessly integrating technology into the learning environment. The school prides itself in incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations. ULIS is the only K-12 school in Lisbon and the only international school in Portugal to be a Microsoft Showcase school.
Connecting the students to different educational experiences through shadowing projects, internships, and entrepreneurship experiences is central at United Lisbon. The school is proud to be leading a campus community that will be the first of its kind: the Edu Hub of Lisbon, created to be an environment where students, educators, innovators, and creators connect in the pursuit of lifelong learning, this 28,400 sqm development site is home to the future of education.

True to its mission as a studentcentered school, the Carlucci American International School of Lisbon (CAISL) is home to 700 students from over 50 nationalities, coming from diverse schooling systems and cultures. “After having studied in 4 countries, our daughter has found in CAISL both academic excellence and human kindness, which has made her feel happy at school”, shared the father of a second grader.

from the US Department of State. In the tradition of American schools, CAISL offers an enriching, varied, and effective program of academics, arts, and athletics. Purpose-built facilities serve as outstanding learning resources.
“I share the school’s approach to education, where arts and sports are as strong as academics. The campus is one of the best in Lisbon. It’s very safe and organised on every level. (...) CAISL is there to help children build their skills and prepare for the future educated, kind, respectful young people.”, said the mother of an 8th grader.
CAISL is a student-centered educational community in which we challenge ourselves and each other to do our best and to make positive contributions to our diverse and ever-changing world.
CAISL is licensed by the Portuguese Ministry of Education to offer an American curricular program for all ages and is the only school in Portugal with sponsorship
Being student-centered also means providing students opportunities to grow in citizenship and leadership. CAISL offers a variety of opportunities to develop these skills, while supporting student initiative. As described by an alum, “besides the exemplary education that the school provides, it prepares you for life, placing you in a path towards success.(…) More than knowledge, CAISL gives you the discipline, perseverance and values you need to navigate in life. (…) If I had to summarise in a few words, CAISL helps you become a more mature individual and teaches you how to learn.”

Listening to the youth of today cry out, is what inspired Tim and Lidia Vieira, parents of three amazing teenagers, to start up their innovative educational academy. Brave Generation Academy’s vision is simple, to pioneer the change to democratize quality education. Their mission is grounded on three pillars: knowledge, skills and community.
Let’s be a teenager!!! Our learning starts the day with what we love to do the most. Competing in a sport or playing a musical instrument. Whatever it is, you can do it, at any time of the day because you can plan to release your huge amount of energy that is bursting inside of you at the time that you decide. YES! That’s already putting you in a great mood to start or end your day.
Humanity evolved by self-educating. Allowing students to self-direct their learning comes natural to them. BGA students self-choose the array of courses on the platform and plan out their own schedule to meet SMART goals. The source of knowledge is via the BGA’s quality assured platform, that keeps being upgraded to enhance and meet the students learning needs. Life skills the students’ loved passions such as tennis, music, golf, surfing, etc. Their passion is independently included in their daily plan. Finally, a sense of community is the feeling that you get when you are surrounded by people who care about each other and have a sense of belonging.Community activities involve clubs in the hub or events outside the hub environment.
BGA brings sweet music to teenagers’ ears!

Now imagine you arrive at your BGA Hub. It can be facing the ocean breath taking views, sweet smelling trees and the sound of birds. Or nestled in the heart of a historical town, a smell of freshly baked bread and people chatting. Where ever it is, it is special! BGA hubs are at the center of learning. Allowing the students to interact freely, collaborate on their learning experience, play chess, relax and learn at their own pace, without pressure or constrictions. The hub is beautifully decorated, wellstructured to support vertical grouping of students as they progress on their learning, supported by coaches.
Teachers are absent in BGA. Instead learners are motivated and supported by skilled and inspiring Learning Coaches. BGA’s most important and carefully selected people are BGA trained, they motivate the BGA learner on his learning journey. BGA is an approved Cambridge International school that has grown exponentially throughout Portugal. Bringing hubs to nearly all regions of the country. This has been to the calling of the teenager and their need for change in their own educational system.
