WHY DRAGONS? EDUCATOR COURSES—FOR FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATORS—OFFER THE BEST IN PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN CROSS-CULTURAL AND EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION. Working alongside a cohort of innovative and inspired colleagues, participants become students again, building meaningful relationships that bring to life classroom curriculum. Through workshops, homestays, exchanges with local experts, and collaborative work in communities, participants experience firsthand our unique approach to transformative teaching and learning. This immersive and hands-on exploration of critical global issues, paired with valuable training in core skills for program leadership (intentional program design, risk management skills, and ethical community engagement practices) makes our innovative, progressive programming unmistakably ‘Dragons’. Participants should come prepared for a challenging, engaging, and profoundly educational experience, and return deeply rewarded for their efforts.

TESTIMONIALS

“Top notch. Way beyond hopes and expectations. I wanted to do a Dragons course for over 15 years and this was even better than I hoped. Mostly due to the high level of all three instructors and a really stellar group of participants. Knowledgeable...accessible and available; generous spirited and warm; fearless in talking about challenging topics; flexible decision making... impeccable on so many levels. I sometimes cringe at the idea of 2 weeks of being in a group. I loved every minute of this time. That is saying so much!!!” — KAT E RA N DA LL Visual Arts Chair & Teacher, Urban School of San Francisco

“The Nepal Educator was equivalent to a graduate level education course. After nearly 40-years working in this field I learned a tremendous amount on both personal and professional levels.” —V I CK I W E E KS Founder of Global Weeks, ISEEN Board Chair Former Director of Global at Lakeside School

“I have been on countless professional development trips/conferences and NEVER have I had a group with such amazing educators and fellow participants! Thank you. This was THE BEST professional development opportunity in terms of personal growth and experiences that I have experienced in my 32-year career as an educator of students! — LE T T Y D OW N S Mathematics Instructor, Hotchkiss School

“Where There Be Dragons is an extraordinary organization changing the lives of children and young adults. The GEBG is fortunate to have Dragons as a strategic partner and collaborator in the important work of hand-cultivating global citizens.
