While New Yorkers and Midwesterners are dying in the summer heat, San Francisco takes comfort in the thick blanket of fog that returns to us most summer nights, which is affectionately named Karl the Fog and has its own Twitter account (@KarlTheFog). It is this playful weather system that keeps both locals and visitors on their toes.

“Always bring a sweater!” should be our city’s motto. We hope you enjoy the cool breeze rolling off the Golden Gate Bridge and the still mornings in the Presidio.

Fourth of July Fireworks San Francisco loves to celebrate with over-the-top experiences. One of the best spectaculars is the epic fireworks show on the Fourth of July over the Bay. It is a beautifully choreographed display of colorful lights with the city skyline and Golden Gate Bridge as the backdrop.
