The Real William Shakespeare "No legacy is so rich as honesty," (Shakespeare ) was a quote from the renown theatrical genius and Bard of Avon, William Shakespeare, whose amount of work is a number over 150. His writings; from the heart wrenching calamity of Romeo and Juliet to the tragedy of the mad king Macbeth, have become the canon of classic literature in the modern world. The alleged brilliance of Shakespeare is manifested into mainstream media in form of film, music, fine arts, etc., and the stories have remined compelling to all tastes and preferences. There is no ambiguity to the truth that William's supposed writings have influenced the modern world, and the values exhibited throughout the works are even so, eerily human. Shakespeare speaks of the importance of honesty and the self–discipline needed to resist the temptation of fame and riches. However, in the past few centuries, there has been reason to believe that Shakespeare is not who we really thought he was. Theories about the legitimacy of the authorization of, "his," works have been brought up, and has been the uproar in the community for years. Shakespeare first started school when he was five, nearly was two years earlier than the normal age at the time, potentially giving him an educational advantage (4). His father was both the mayor of Stratford and a farmer (4). His mother was involved with legal matters, frequently serving as a juror and executrix.(4) After Shakespeare dropped out of school, she then continued his education at home. Shakespeare went to a grammar school for seven years. (7) He then dropped out of school to help his family with finances. When he was 18 years old he married Anne Hathaway, the daughter of a farmer. The nine years between is just another mystery that nobody can figure out(Shakespeare Online, Actor and Playwright,1999–2010 ). There is no doubt as of today that William Shakespeare is the greatest writer of English Literature. His plays have been made into movies, books have been written, music has been conducted and published, and if your real lucky you might even be able to see a play of one of his greatest stories ever told; in which I have seen many movies and read many books. Odysseus is constantly dealing with obstacles that have been set in place by the Gods. After Paris captured Helen and brought her back to Troy, Helen fell in love with Paris. This abduction of Helen ignited the start of the Trojan war. In the epic, Helen is described as being as "striking as Artemis with her golden shafts" (Od. 4.136) and is very hospitable towards Telemachus. Helens beauty as well as her affair with Paris have deemed her to be a seductress. Helen's role as a temptress is crucial, because she is the reason why Odysseus left Ithaca to fight in the Trojan war. Menelaus reminisces about the Trojan Horse and mentions Helen being the "voice of all our long–lost wives" (Od. 4.313) since she was imitating the voices of Greek soldiers' wives. Helen did not intentionally try to keep Odysseus away from Ithaca, but she catalyzed the events that caused Odysseus to stay away for ten years. Circe is also described as a "lustrous goddess" with a "spellbinding voice" (Od. 10.243). These characteristics make it easy for Circe to bewitch Odysseus' men, however Odysseus escapes the trap. Sadly, Hamnet died in August of 1596, and from that point forward we have no more information regarding his family until 1616, the year of his death. There are enough legal documents and theatre records, though, to know that Shakespeare goes on to possess a generous amount of real estate, hold shares in an acting company that built the Globe Theatre, and become a principal player in the acting group The Kings Men (A Midsummer Night's Dream xxx–xxxi). There are many theories and stories floating around that seem to fill in the gaping holes in his timeline, but since this information doesn't appear in a register or on a playbill, we don't know what is fact or fiction.

On January 25th, 1616, Shakespeare signs his will in three places leaving the majority of his estate to his eldest daughter, Susanna, and his "second–best" bed to his wife (All Shakespeare). He died three months later on April 23rd, and was buried in Stratford, yet his name does not appear on the stone over his grave. He is recognized worldwide because of his writing. After his twins were born, during the "Lost Years", he is believed to have begun working at the Globe Theater in London as a playwright. While the order of his plays is unknown, it is believed that he began his career with The Taming of the Shrew, Henry VI Part II, and Henry VI Part III. Even though he began to make a name for himself as a playwright, he was widely criticized. Throughout the last century, a raging phenomenon known as the "Authorship Debate", has come to light. It disputes whether Shakespeare himself wrote the plays and sonnets or if it was someone else writing under a pseudonym. But the fact remains that his name, whether he wrote the plays or not, is credited as the author so in some way shape or form he wrote the plays. Sir Francis Bacon is the next suspect. Sir Francis Bacon was an advanced thinker as well as someone of high standing. During the Elizabethan Era, if someone was of high standing and social class, they were so noble that they had no reason to partake in anything revolving the theater, which was beneath them. According to Summary of Baconian Evidence for Shakespeare Authorship, the only Shakespeare notebook, which is a collection of words, phrases and sentences, is actually Promus written by Francis Bacon himself. Promus was written between the years of 1594–1956, whereas all of Shakespeare's plays and poems were written in the 1600's.
