Welcome to our 20th annual bull sale! When we had our first bull in 2004 we were still right in the middle of dealing with BSE, and we were probably more focoused on just making it to next year, but here we are 20 years later! A lot has happened since that time and these anniversaries are always a great time to relfect on the past and look forward to the future.
We are very proud of how far we have come with growing the quality of our genetics since we started our purebred herd 25 years ago. It truely takes a life time to develop a cow herd with the consistency we strive for in type, soundess, udder quality and production. It is an ever moving target that we love to pursue and we hope that the third generation will continue that passion. We truely are a family run operation with everyone contributing on a day to day basis, and 100% of our income is produced by our cattle. We have never had the time or money to put up with mediocre or problem cattle, so culling takes care of itself.
One of the things that has not changed over these past years is our commitment to produce cattle that work for commmercial cattlemen. We started with commercial cattle and our breeding objectives have never wavered from the same goals we had as commercial cow/calf producers. In the past few years we have used a lot of outcross genetics, and our motivation was not to make something shiny and new for the purebred industry. Our goal was to make the cattle better for our commercial customers becaust that was what we felt we needed to do. Our program has always been based on selling quality, and not just trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear. We put alot of effort into breeding, developing, and representing our cattle. We even make our own advertising and sale catalogue. We hope that passion and commitement to what we do shines through and you can sense the pride we take in our work.
The offering itself represents the best of the past 25 years of our breeding program. Two-thirds, or 66% of the sale offering, the sire and dam both carry our prefix. Every bull was raised by a cow bred, born and raised here. That is a reflection of a true breeding program. We have developed what works in our environment and we feel that they will most likely work in yours. The depth of quality is as strong as ever in our yearling offering of red and black bulls. There are bulls that will suit any taste and budget. Our two-year old offering is smaller this year in numbers due to the extreme drought in 2021, but the quality is very strong. We would be happy to talk with you about the offering and help recommend bulls that fit your particular goals and environment.
We need to take this opportunity to thank all the people that have helped us get to this point. We have met so many great friends, mentors and customers on this journey that are truely what makes it all worth while. Most importantly I must thank my parents Harvey & Frances who have always allowed me to take a very active role in our purebred herd. One of the most important things they have taught me is how important it is to have a life partner that will support you through thick and thin, and I am forever thankful that I have Rhea by my side. Hopefully one of their grand-sons Ty, Tate or Rhett gets to write the welcome for our 50th celebration!
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions about the offering. We have a very professional, top notch group of sale staff that we can also recommend with confidence to represent our program.

Stark has proven himself to be ones of the most balanced and consistent sires we have ever used. He is not extreme in any one trait, but we have also not found one major hole in his production record. That says alot! Phenotypically his progeny are of a sensible mature size with added natural muscle shape, fleshing ability, and correct feet and legs. Their natural do-ability, fertility, foot quality and added dark red hair coat have proven them well adapted to thrive under our extreme conditions these past few years. Now that his daughters have calved we have no doubt that they will be productve, fault free cows with good udders and milk flow. They say that the true test of a herd bull is if he can out produce himself, and we feel that Stark has done that, and many of those sons sell in this sale. We will continue to utilize him and his sons in our own program. He could very well go down as the best bull we have raised in the 25 year history of our program. Everyone is always looking for that new outcross pedigree that is proven enough to remove the guess work. Stark
From the tip of their nose to their tail his calves are STOUT! They have added rib shape and bone, without adding mature frame size. After calving paternal sisters by Red Box and knowing the exceptional udder quality of his dam we feel Fort Knox could be an udder improver. His dam is a feature donor cow in our ET program. Fort Knox is a power bull that calves easy and averaged 87 lbs on his first calf crop. He will sire the replacement heifers we need to remain profitable, but also produce those steers that weigh up in the fall.
Built like Fort Knox!
Hard Knox is a bull that is built right for the times. He offers calving ease in the package that matters, not just low birth weights! His calves are built and shaped to be born easy and averaged around 77 lbs in his first calf crop. When you study their head and shoulder shape and length of body we can recommend them with confidence for your heifer pen. His progeny are also stamped with that extra dark red colour that eveyone likes. His dam Auburn 19E has been a consistent producer including the trio of flush brothers that headlined our 2022 sale.
We added Typhoon to our herd bull battery for his rare combination of calving ease, growth and maternal traits. His sire, Tycoon has proven to be one of the rare calving ease and high growth bulls in the breed. We feel Typhoon’s dam makes him the next step in this line and that he will be a major part of our program moving forward. Unfortunately we got very few bull calves in our first calf crop, but his heifer calves have exceeded our expectations so far. Watch for his influence in the future.
Genesis was an AI sire we added to be an outcross calving ease bull for our program. What excited us the most about Genesis was his proven maternal pedigree and exceptional dam. Genesis is no longer producing semen so that makes his progeny that much more valueable. This will be our last offering of Genesis progeny, so get them while you still can.

Bravo was an AI sire we added to be an outcross calving ease bull for our program. Bravo is an extremely easy calving sire and was produced from one of the most highly recognised maternal cow families in the world, Coleman Donna. His sons are sound footed, deep ribbed with nice hair coats and exhibit traditional Angus character.
Actual BW: 85 | Adj. 205: 927 | Adj. 365: 1481

Firebrand is an AI sire we used to add more influence of Brooking Bank Note into our program. We recently aquired a maternal sister to Firebrand to be a foundation donor female for our growing black herd. Firebrand is one of the most highly used and proven performance and maternal sires in the breed.
Actual BW: 81 | Adj. 205: 879 | Adj. 365: 1501
EPD’s BW 2.2 | WW 71 | YW 122 | M 18 | CE 4.0 | MCE 10.0
External Law is a new sire we used to push the envelope of performance and maternal traits. We feel his sire Executive Decision is the best breeding son of the immortal Natural Law. A different twist in pedigree for our repeat customers.
King Slayer is a rare find in a Red Angus bull. He is extremely powerful with added size, length and performance. He has been appreciated for his masculinity, strong level topline, hip shape and structural correctness. His dam is an ELITE dam with CAA and always weans off a top calf. As a two-year old she weaned the highest acutal weaning weight calf in our entire cow herd. This is not a suprise as our Auburn cow family has established itself as one of our most productive. We used King Slayer in our own program in 2022 and then campained him to Grand Champion Angus Bull at Perdue and Prince Albert and Senior Champion Yearling Bull at Agribition. Tate is sad to see King Slayer sold and would be happy to help campain him again in 2023 if the new buyer wishes.

This flush may go down as the most successful in our 25 year history. Ginger Barbie produced 31 embryos in her first flush and the quality and consistency in the resulting progeny has been exceptional. Everyone that has stopped by has been impressed and picks a different bull as their favourite. That speaks volumes to the genetic pre-potency these bulls offer, but it’s not suprising when they have parents like Stark and Ginger Barbie. Stark has proven to be the outcross breeding piece the breed has been searching for and when he is mated to the phenotypic model cow of the breed, Ginger Barbie, there is a genetic explosion with potential that can not be ignored. Ginger Barbie is the type of cow you want to be the mother of your herd bull and had many admirers when she won Grand Champion Red Angus Female at Agribition and Supreme Champion Female over all breeds at Perdue and Prince Albert. We will be utilizing these bulls genetics in our own program to continue to move us forward. Come be a part of the Ginger Revolution!

One of our favourite Stark sons, his full brother was our best bull in 2022 until his untimely death after weaning. Atlantis 109D is a nice easy fleshing moderate cow that has been a stellar producer. Herd Bull here with calving ease potential. Full brothers were 84 and 79 lbs at birth.

Old Jestress 1Y put another good one in the pen again and is raising another good calf this year at 12 years of age. She has been a stellar ET donor and produced herd bulls Creed 214C and Dracarys 178E, sire of Stark. One of our most potent, proven producers mated to Executive Law produced this bull with extra size, length and hair.

We used Executive Law to produce some performance bulls and put some great heifers in the replacement pen. Executive Decision is one of the great breeding bulls of modern times and we also bought another son named W Sunrise Executive 8J that will have sons in next years sale.
We used Firebrand to continue the Bank Note influence in our herd and build some females. Black Angel 69F is the result of an embryo purchase from the awesome Black Angel 1299 cow who has 87 registered progeny.

A striking Stark son that could be used on heifers or cows. The Lewis 3008B daughters are special cows. A cow family that consistently produces moderate birth weights.
Arrow is a bull we retained to be a walking herd sire for ourselves. His pedigree combines Hawkeye (a Lewis 3008B son) on a Magic Mike daughter. Some of the best female producing sires we have used. Arrow is a smooth and correct bull that we admire for his foot shape. If he breeds true to his pedigree he will be a foundation maternal sire and add pounds at weaning time in the process. We like the look of his calves so far, they have been lower birth than we expected.
Executive was a bull I found as a 2 month old baby calf that stuck in my mind. I saw him again after weaning and at 14 months. By sale time he was pushing the scale down at 1700 lbs, but we are happy to see that over the summer and fall he has slowed in his growth curve and will not be excessive in his mature size. He always impresses for his power, bone, depth of heal, and most importantly his added length of spine. Length is something that is slowly being lost across all breeds of cattle and we felt Executive brought alot to the table. The previous year his dam also raised the high selling Bank Note bull for W Sunrise who was highly regarded for his foot quality. We have been impressed with his calves so far. Many have been born long bodied and stout, hairy, dark red with black feet. They have alot of vigour and get up and sucking quickly. It will be interesting to watch them develop.
Convoy is the result of an embryo we sold to Bar Double MM and after seeing him last summer we decided to buy him back to use in our own program. Never before have we bred a bull that we feel represents what we have been trying to achieve over the past 25 years in our breeding program. Knowing how his pedigree is stacked gives us great confidense in how he will reproduce his type and kind. You will not find an Angus bull that packs more natural muscle on to a sensible frame size. He stands on a solid foot, has lots of hair, and we admire his skull shape and masculinity. His dam Annie Oakley has not missed and is one of the most unique cows in the entire breed.
We have decided to make Convoy available on the open market. Never before have we bred a bull that we feel represents what we have been trying to achieve over the past 25 years in our breeding program. Knowing how is pedigree is stacked also gives us great confidense in how we will reproduce his type and kind. We will be utilizing him in our own program and invite you to do the same if you want more of our kind of

Good Time Charlie is the most unique phenotype Red Angus bull we have found in quite some time. His unmatched rib shape, bone, and body capacity is combined with an undeniable style and herd bull prescence. Watch his video and you will see how this stud demands your attention. We have not been this excited about a new bull in a long time and are planning to use him heavily and are making him a big part of the future of our program.
