Have some summer fun with a KidStart Buddy! KidStart is Campbell River’s only mentoring program since Big Brothers and Sisters closed. When new children and youth enter the program, we ask them about their favourite hobbies and interests. Many kids say that they would love to ride the Quadra ferry (but never have), would love to build a fort at the beach, or go check out the Elk Falls suspension bridge. Many KidStart families face transportation and other socio-economic barriers that prevent them from accessing some of these fun and simple experiences that Campbell River has to offer. If you are enjoying your summer fun, please consider bringing a KidStart friend along. KidStart is for children and youth ages 6-18, and mentors report that spending time with their buddies is the highlight of their week. For more information contact KidStart Coordinator Tara Jordan at 250-203-3111 or tara.jordan@jhsni.bc.ca
