7 Ways 2 Find Value N Cruisin' Preparing for back to school, already! Though the economy is rebounding and prices along with it, the best place to look for a deal is CRUISING. Here's 8 ways to sail affordable: 1) Keep up with excess inventory. Get on the email list of a local travel agency or the cruise line of your choice. Make sure the cruise line has many ships in one destination, such as Princess in Alaska / Carnival in the Caribbean. 2) New ships mean new deals. This tip is true even in the luxury market, where value options have been historically harder to score. Seabourn will have launched three ships in three years debuts that have come with great discounts. (Offering 7-day Mediterranean cruise aboard the new Quest

starting at $3,499 per person - a savings of up to 50% off brochure rates.) 3) Book during "wave season" for freebies. During January through March, when cruise lines try to entice Americans to book their summer vacations remains a great time to score deals - Especially at the beginning and end of the season. 4) If your dates are not flexible, BOOK EARLY. People who must travel during the popular weeks of the year (Spring Break / Winter Vacation) should make arrangements now instead of waiting for wave season; adjoining and family cabins are snapped up quickly. 5) What's included in the price. With the high-end cruise lines, sticking to the published rates, they offer good value when you factor in the airfare, transfers, alcohol other extras. 6) Skip the "run of the ship" option. Many cruise lines offer deals for a "run of the ship" booking,

6

which guarantees a cabin, but not always a particular type. This pays off with an unexpected upgrade, but more often than not the gamble isn't worth the risk. 7) Check out shoulder-season cruises. Now, if you hit the Mediterranean in April, May, or September, not only will you beat the heat and crowds; you'll find lower rates. In early April, cruise to the Caribbean. Please be mindful of weather issues. *Most cruise lines are pushing the definition of all-inclusive and the value of their additional offerings. The savings are significant.

It's All About Prayer , Praise and Worship I awoke one morning feeling sad and Blue. Nothing was wrong, But I Thank God I knew what to do. Down On my knees in Prayer I went Praying to God I began to Vent. I heard him speak deep in my heart . read my word, and don't give in, you have a WONDERFUL COUNSELOR THAT LIVES WITHIN... I shed some tears and began to worship and Praise,

I Thanked God for all of my Days. The Good and the Bad, the Bitter and the Sweet. I cast all my cares at my Savior's feet. It wasn't long before I felt at peace The love of my God is so very tender and sweet.

Let all God's children Glorify Him- Magnify Him- Worship and Praise him... whether Happy or sad. Then Watch the Windows Of Heaven Open Up. GLORY To God.. I feel Like A shout out to my Omnipotent God is the Order for the Day... by Janice O. Alston

Motivating your man can have such a positive effect on your man that no other woman can , not even his mother. When we think of the word motivation we think of a drill instructor barking out orders to his soldiers. He motivates them through fear to accomplish the task at hand. That’s not what we are portraying here. The motivation we mean here is filled with loving , encouraging words

designed to show the man in your life that there is a support system in place (AT HOME) ready with kind words

that are both encouraging and motivating that builds up and does not tear down .It will always be easier to tear

down –But who will be there to build him back up .When was the last time you thanked your man for anything ?. Cooked hot meals ,clean underwear ,a clean house does not happen by the “clean up fairy” men-Build one another up-motivate one another, this will take the relationship to a whole different level .Encouragemotivate and watch him soar above the clouds…. “people person”; I grew up around preachers/pastors. I saw enough to never seek after it without God strong arming me. I have fallen in love with it now. I am hooked for life. As a wife I can honestly said that I did not always want to be a pastor’s wife. I just wanted a God fearing husband who loves the Lord. I can truly say now that I have been blessed with that husband.

WEFGW sat down across from Rev G. L. Wilbourn and Lady Sharon Wilbourn to get to know the heartbeat of the couple about life, being a young pastoral couple and the future. 

WEFGW: Pastor and lady Wilbourn what is your most rewarding aspect of being a 21 century pastoral couple? Wilbourn’s: The most rewarding aspect of being a 21st century pastoral couple is seeing people being transformed by God right before your eyes. Watching God’s people go from level to level, dimension to dimension and from faith to faith, it’s like watching a caterpillar being transformed into this beautiful winged flying creation.

WEFGW: Have you always wanted to be a Pastor and a Pastor’s wife?

Wilbourn’s: No! I did not always want to be a pastor. I know that’s the typical African- American preachers answer, but in my case it’s so true. I’m not a talker or a

 

WEFGW: Describe your church its congregants. Wilbourn’s: Wow! In a nutshell. Real people with real issues seeking the real God. Chosen Generation Fellowship is basically fifty percent babes in Christ or first timers being ‘Active” in church. We love them dearly. They keep us laughing, smiling, hoping, believing and encouraged. This is how we describe God’s church and its congregants at Chosen Generation Fellowship. WEFGW: What direction do you believe God is moving His church in this day and time? Wilbourn’s: We believe the next move of God for His church is the

10

breaking down the wall of denominationalism. More and more churches-Pastors are fellowshipping beyond their denomination. 

WEFGW: What do you see as the difference between the 1st church and the church today?

Wilbourns’ : Do we have to answer this question? How would you compare the modern church to the church in the book of Acts? Right now in this country, it’s almost comparing fire crackers to a stick of dynamite! That church had not just the power, miracles and growth, but she was so unselfish. It’s like what we would call a cult today.

Chosen Generation Fellowship is located at 817 W. Pipeline Rd in the beautiful city of Hurst Texas. Stop by and meet the Wilbourn’s any Sunday at 11AM.

Movie Madness

On today’s list is Transformers: “Dark of the Moon” I was intrigued as usual by the performance of Shia

Lebeouf he was the star in the first and second, Transformer movies and he did not give us a discounted performance in this one. I am continually amazed at his ability to give us all of him and then some. He remained the hero and

kept with his hopeless romanticism all at the same time. I was however disappointed by the choice of the director to change his love life and to bring in someone new although Rosie Huntington-Whitley is beautiful, she does not have the same edge as the previous character Megan Fox. I miss her hands on approach and her non prissy qualities. Overall

this movie was engaging and suspenseful it pulls you in from the beginning and never lets go. I cannot wait to see what’s next.

ABC’s of Back to School Hair Care  Alternate between different styles to keep it fresh, stylish an exciting! Ponytails, twists, half up, half down, spirals and zigzag partings are some examples for the younger crew.  Budget time and money into your child’s hair upkeep. Don’t think about chemical relaxing if you’re not willing to invest the time and money to maintain it.  Choose one-length haircuts such as bobs for tweens and teens because it’s easy to maintain. Avoid haircuts with lots of layers if you don’t have the time to style it. Also freshen up a cut with choppy or side swept bangs.  Don’t over use products. Children don’t need heavy products such as gel, pomades or spritz to have a cute style.

Invest in different hair accessories that are age appropriate such as barrettes, hair bands, butterflies, flowers, jeweled hair clips and coated elastic bands. Invest in name brand. .99 cents brands don’t always work. Kiddie kits and “texture softeners” are not the answer. It’s marketing! It’s still a “hydroxide” that’s doing the straightening or “softening”. So don’t believe the hype, “no-lye” is a lie! Learn your child’s hair type and texture to aid you in choosing the right products. You may have to experiment with some products for the best combination. Moisture shampoos, conditioners, leave-in conditioners and moisturizing lotions should be used often. Natural hair is beautiful. Don’t get caught up in what the media thinks is beautiful. Teach your daughter’s and son’s to embrace what God gave us and learn how to take care of it.

17

Oils seal your hair and helps keep it pliable with a nice sheen. Hot oil treatments are awesome! Peer pressure is sure to come. Help your child deal with it. Reinforce that all shades and hair textures are beautiful and desirable. Take “good” and “bad” hair out of your vocabulary. Quality products make a BIG difference. Cheap products that contain cheap ingredients can yield cheap results that roughen your hair causing breakage.
