Sallie Krawcheck CEO, Co-Founder of Ellevest Wall Street Trailblazer
PRESENTS Invest in
INVESTING IN WOMEN IS ALWAYS A WISE DECISION
The power of owning stocks, bonds, and real estate is undeniable, but any investor will tell you it’s never a sure thing. On the other hand, investing in women with your philanthropy is a low-risk, high-return strategy that delivers rewarding results for our entire state.
Sallie Krawcheck is a titan of Wall Street and the co-founder and CEO of Ellevest. She famously says, “Nothing bad happens when we put more money in the hands of women.” This quote resonated with us so much, we knew we needed Sallie to join our community as our 2023 Annual Luncheon special guest.
You don’t need a financial advisor or investment manager to begin making a difference. You can start today by supporting The Women’s Foundation of Colorado. We’re the only statewide community foundation focused on gender, racial, and economic equity and we can’t do our work without you.
An investment in us is an investment in:
• More than 60 grantee organizations creating access to opportunity for women in every county in Colorado
• Women of color leaders who are strengthening communities through their lived experiences and innovative ideas
• Policies that protect women’s progress and spur economic opportunities for families, such as paid family & medical leave, equal pay for equal work, universal pre-kindergarten, and increasing access to reproductive health care
Today, let’s build a movement of investing in the women of Colorado. In turn, we will yield health and wealth for families, workplaces, communities, and the state’s economy now and into the future.
Thank you for being part of our community and sharing our vision for a future where women and girls of every background and identity thrive.

DOTTIE LAMM LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNER OPENING ENTERTAINMENT
My name is Ayan Jamal Husein, and I am a first-generation student. I am a second-year transfer student at the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in molecular cellular and developmental biology (MCDB), minoring in Korean, and pursuing a public health certificate. After I graduate, I plan to either attend medical school or join a research lab.
I have been involved in several clubs, which have helped me hone my communication skills and taught me the value of teamwork. I was a part of the multicultural club, pride club, student government, diversity club, Muslim Student Association, Black and African Student Association, and Phi Theta Kappa.
I want to become a trauma specialist and work with the United Nations. I have always wanted to be a physician. The hospital was a familiar atmosphere for me. The more I went, the more I began to see myself becoming a doctor.
I believe everyone, no matter their background, should have access to health care and a safe community. I want to pursue medicine because it would be one less death in the world and make the hiking trail a little easier, safer, and more beautiful for my sisters of color to navigate and reach their goals.
