Innovative dining concepts

Seven Seas Prestige™ offers 11 dining venues, including established favourites such as Prime 7 (a classic steakhouse), Compass Rose (the largest speciality restaurant across the Regent fleet) and Sette Mari at La Veranda (an authentic Italian restaurant). A stylish welcome

Decked out with Murano glass chandeliers and varnished wood, the lounge at Rome’s Ostiense Station certainly makes an immediate impression. It’s well worth arriving with ample time to spare to make the most of the top-class hospitality and complimentary food and drinks. And of course, the 1960s-inspired jazz band adds to the classy ambience. Another thoughtful touch was that most of the train’s crew made the effort to introduce themselves personally. As I made my way through to my cabin, I was struck by the intricate detail of the train’s glamorous interiors. The walls are covered in a soft, light red fabric and adorned with golden-framed, black-and-white photographs of Italian film stars and scenes from the 1950s and ‘60s.

Aosta

From just outside Aosta, an exceptionally scenic road weaves through a steep-sided valley to Cogne, a historic village on the fringes of Gran Paradiso National Park. The nearby botanical gardens and meadows also make a delightful setting for a leisurely stroll.

Courmayeur

Close to the French border towards the western end of the Aosta Valley lies the charming town of Courmayeur,

New Brunswick

Home to 15 distinct First Nation communities, New Brunswick offers a fascinating insight into Atlantic Canada’s rich Indigenous heritage. Newfoundland & Labrador

The largest of Atlantic Canada’s four provinces, Newfoundland and Labrador’s history of human habitation stretches back around 9,000 years. Among the province’s sprawling forests, majestic fjords, windswept coastlines and iceberg-dotted waters, Indigenous communities have forged a profound understanding of the land that has evolved from ancient hunter-gatherer practices originally forged in the Arctic to a more modern way of living that retains a strong appreciation for nature and culture. Visitors can learn about the four main Indigenous groups – the Inuit, Southern Inuit (formerly the Labrador Inuit-Metis), Innu, and the Mi’Kmaq – through the likes of immersive forest walks, guided boat tours, cultural workshops and traditional food experiences.

Nova Scotia

For more than 13,000 years, the Mi’kmaq people have called Nova Scotia home, enriching the province’s communities with their legends, art, music and spirituality. Stretching 250 kilometres from the Matapedia Valley out into the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Gaspé Peninsula harbours some of Québec’s most alluring landscapes, gorgeous beaches and charming coastal villages. Spectacular national parks

The Gaspé Peninsula is home to four national parks steeped in soul-stirring beauty. Gaspésie is a hiker’s paradise, with 25 peaks exceeding 1,000 metres, including the second-highest summit in Québec (Mont Jacques-Cartier, 1,268 metres), while Forillon is renowned for its sea cliffs, coastal forests and remote beaches. Wildlife in abundance

Both inland and off the coast, the Gaspé Peninsula is a prime destination for wildlife watching. The boreal forests and tundra-like landscapes of Gaspésie National

Park are roamed by caribou and moose, while the likes of black bears, coyotes, porcupines, beavers and lynx can be spotted in Forillon National Park, alongside an estimated 288 bird species. Whales and dolphins are also frequently seen from June to October in the Forillon-Percé area, including blue whales – the largest animals on the planet.
