In The Between

Page 1

An interactive panel event featuring international creatives and academyresidents, focused around discussions to explore the intersection between creativity and culture. Amidst the differences that make our world, we live in a time of heterogeneity, where borders are blurred and different voices come together to create new realities. This event seeks to spark future collaborations and connections, forminga fluid manifesto that celebrates the complexities of a creolised world. Creolisation is a term born from linguistics that has evolved to celebrate multiplicity, new ways of being, and creativity.

This showcase enters the bold conversation around cultural creolisation, whilst forming an understandable framework that encourages the viewer to challenge the way we see art.

“Creolisation is a hybrid of arts, or languages that produces the unexpected. It is a way of continuously transforming oneself without losing oneself. It is a space where dispersion allows us to gather, where the clashes of cultures, the disharmony, the disorder, the interference become creative. It is the creation of an open and unique culture, which challenges the uniformity of the great media and artistic centres.”
