GUIDE 2025

It is with an overflowing heart that I welcome you to what promises to be the most spectacular Pride Week our FargoMoorhead area has ever witnessed. From humble beginnings, we’ve blossomed into truly the biggest Pride celebration between Seattle and Minneapolis, a testament to the vibrant and resilient spirit of our LGBTQ+ community and our incredible allies.
This year, our focus on community and community building is stronger than ever. Get ready for an unparalleled experience with over 35 events planned, each designed to uplift, connect, and celebrate every facet of our diverse identities. We’ve worked hand-in-hand with over two dozen dedicated community partners, whose unwavering support has helped us craft a week that offers something truly special for everyone—from dazzling performances and family-friendly all ages events to powerful moments of remembrance and advocacy. Every event is an opportunity to strengthen the bonds that make our Fargo-Moorhead community so special.
Fargo-Moorhead Pride is more than just a series of events; it’s a powerful declaration of love, acceptance, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves to live authentically and joyfully. It’s a space where we come together to honor our history, celebrate our present, and boldly shape our future. It’s about building a stronger, more inclusive community where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
And looking ahead, get ready for an even bigger milestone! In 2026, we’ll be celebrating 25 years of Pride celebrations in
Fargo-Moorhead. We’ve come so far, and this upcoming anniversary will be a monumental occasion to reflect on our journey and look forward to an even brighter future—a future built on the foundation of the incredible community we’ve built together.
So, immerse yourselves in the festivities, connect with new friends, and revel in the boundless joy that is uniquely Pride. Let’s make 2025 a year to remember, a beacon of unity and pride that shines brightly across the Midwest and beyond.
Thank you for being here, for being you, and for making Fargo-Moorhead Pride an unstoppable force of positivity and change.
With immense pride and gratitude,
Thane Solberg Chairman, FargoMoorhead Pride
FM Pride is a 100% volunteer-run celebration, founded in 2001 with humble beginnings. Since our first official parade and festival in 2005, we’ve grown into one of the largest Pride Week events in the Upper Midwest, drawing attendees from across the region and Canada.
To empower, educate, and support LGBTQ+ individuals in Fargo-Moorhead and beyond.
A future where every LGBTQ+ person feels safe, included, and celebrated.
Inclusivity, empowerment, advocacy, and joy in celebrating identity.
Increased Visibility: Safe, vibrant spaces for queer self-expression.
Community Support: Raising funds for local LGBTQ+ nonprofits.
Education & Outreach: Hosting panels, talks, and workshops.
Empowerment: Strengthening individuals’ confidence and sense of belonging.
Our events are powered by passionate volunteers, whose tireless work behind the scenes, at booths, and welcoming attendees makes this celebration possible.
What an incredible honor it is to serve as the Grand Marshal for the 2025 Fargo-Moorhead Pride Parade. To be invited into this role, at the heart of a celebration that brings together love, resilience, and joy is one of the most humbling and meaningful recognitions of my life.
I grew up in a small town, where being open about who I was did not always feel possible. To now have people from that same town celebrate this honor with me is a powerful reminder of how far we have come together. But we also know the fight is not over. In many ways, it feels like we are being pulled backward. Rights we thought were settled are once again under debate. But history has shown us that progress is never a straight line. Even when the road winds, we keep walking and we keep fighting, not just for ourselves but for the generations to come.
I will continue to fight for queer rights at the state level, and I believe every one of us has a role to play in our communities. Whether it is speaking up, showing up, or simply living your truth, you are part of the movement.
Over the past decade, Fargo-Moorhead has become home to me. From college to my career, this community has brought out the best in me, just as it has for so many others. I have seen what happens when a place chooses visibility over silence, compassion over fear, and unity over division. Fargo-Moorhead shows up. Here, Pride is not just a week of events. It is a declaration that queer people belong, that our voices matter, and that our futures are worth celebrating.
I walk in this parade for the brave souls who came before me. For those who marched when it was dangerous. For those who were not allowed to live out loud. And for the young ones who are just beginning to find their voices, I hope this week helps you feel seen, celebrated, and fiercely loved.
To the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and every hand and heart that made this celebration possible, thank you. Your work builds more than an event. It builds belonging.
So let us raise our flags high. Let us dance in the streets. Let us hold space for both joy and justice. And most of all, let us remind the world that Pride is powerful.
With deep gratitude and pride,
Austin Foss 2025 FM Pride Parade Grand Marshal
