West Valley Christian School equips students for life by providing Academic Excellence, a Biblical Foundation, and a Christ-Centered Community.
I am incredibly excited about the future of West Valley Christian School.
As we began to see what God was planning at WVCS, the board of directors decided to create a comprehensive strategic plan. We selected Dr. Alan Pue, of The Barnabas Group, to guide this effort with a thorough “strategic planning process.” This process created a task force to develop a strategic plan that would guide our decisions for the next several years.
An important thing to note is this strategic plan doesn’t change who we are or what we teach. Instead, it serves as a guide for our decision-making and priority-setting. This plan will help us continue aiming for excellence in all areas to best serve our students and families.
Our task force for the strategic plan consisted of over 30 WVCS parents and grandparents, faculty and staff, community members, and the board of directors. This team was committed to multiple meetings from October 2022 through February 2023. Each team member committed up to 30 hours of their personal time to help shape the vision. I want to thank each of you who served on this team for your prayers and dedication throughout this process. Our school was blessed because of the time and energy each of you gave.
As WVCS follows God’s path for the next three years, we realize now more than ever, its students need to be educated with biblical truth, be supported in Christian family beliefs, be filled with hope, be guided in Christ-like character, be offered spiritual life, and be prepared for their life to have maximum impact.
In the following pages, you will see that we have a plan and a vision for the future that we will vigorously work toward. I believe that God will bless WVCS as we live out our faith courageously, equipping students for life by providing academic excellence, a biblical foundation, and a Christ-centered community.

Rationale:
God has been so faithful to West Valley Christian School in the past, and as we move into the future, we will continue to depend on His provision. He has brought us to a unique position financially where we can be proactive with our finances and not simply react to every situation.
Building a strong financial foundation is essential for WVCS to remain competitive and relevant in a constantly changing education landscape. This includes being able to attract and retain talented faculty, updating technology and resources, and adapting to changing student needs and learning styles, as well as plans for potential building additions in the future.
Without financial stability, a Christian school may struggle to meet its operational expenses, maintain its facilities, and provide high-quality educational resources and programs for its students. This can have a direct impact on the quality of education that the school provides and may prevent the school from reaching its full potential. WVCS is committed to create and maintain a plan for long-term financial sustainability. We are also committed to our current families and the next generation of Warrior families. Financial sustainability will allow the WVCS community to be confident that we will continue growing for many years!
WVCS has some incredibly generous donors and supporters who desire to honor God by supporting WVCS. Financial stability provides peace of mind for the school’s stakeholders, including parents, alumni, and donors. It helps reassure them that their investments in the school are secure and the school will continue to serve the community for generations to come.

Rationale:
God has designed us to live and thrive in community.
There are many opportunities for our students, families, and staff to shine the light of Jesus and share God’s Truth. These opportunities create a sense of unity among parents, teachers, and administrators working together towards a common goal. This can also provide more chances for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-world situations, enhancing their education and helping to shape their beliefs and values.
With families as a natural referral base, we aim to get the word out about the amazing things God is doing at WVCS! Partnering with local businesses, churches, and community members will strengthen our school and benefit the larger community as we learn from, equip, and support each other. By being active in the community, West Valley Christian School can help promote our mission and values to a broader audience, raising awareness of faith’s important role in education. This can also help build stronger relationships with families and other community members, creating a supportive network that can benefit the school and the community as a whole.
Jesus is glorified in our healthy relationships, and building a thriving community will help fulfill the WVCS mission to equip students for life through a Christcentered community.

Rationale:
Goodyear is one of the most rapidly growing cities in the country. There are many strong Christian high schools in the Phoenix area, but none in the west valley area. The time has come for West Valley Christian School to explore the possibility of expanding our influence to high school students.
High school students make big decisions about the trajectory of their lives, and they need a strong biblical foundation that comes when the school, church, and family all send the same message: God’s Truth is non-negotiable.
Our school has grown exponentially in the past few years, and the number one question in the air is “When is WVCS going to begin a high school?” The Lord has placed the desire to see a Christian high school in the heart and mind of our community. With full confidence that the Lord will fulfill His purpose for WVCS, we are poised to begin investigating what WVC High School could look like, in God’s time, and with a strategic plan aligned with God’s plan. Our Strategic Planning Team will explore steps toward accomplishing this in the future.

Rationale:
For West Valley Christian School to continue to grow, the middle school program needs to form its own identity and be strengthened. A solid middle school must offer unique resources and opportunities to match the unique phase in their lives. To best serve these students and families, we need to create a unique solution to meet them where they are. The stage of early adolescence is a hard time for all: parents, teachers, and the students themselves. It is an awkward stage straddling the line between childhood and young adulthood.
In this three-year time span, there will be exponential growth physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. WVCS’s vision is to enhance and build a middle school experience that supports this growth through intentional relationships and relevant learning techniques. The middle school experience at WVCS is, first and foremost, rooted in giving students a place to belong. A place where their identity is anchored in Christ. A place where students will know they are loved and supported—a place where their education builds a love of learning.
We desire to normalize growing up and provide support for families. Middle school is an age group often neglected, ignored, or shoved off due to the difficulties many see as insurmountable.
Expanding and enhancing a middle school is a critical step in providing students with a high-quality education and preparing them for success in the future. By investing in the physical, technological, and educational resources of the school, we can help to ensure that all students have access to the opportunities and support they need to succeed.
