CNB accepting calendar photo submissions Canandaigua National Bank & Trust (CNB) is accepting submissions from area photography enthusiasts for the annual CNB wall calendar. Photos of local scenes are strongly encouraged. Electronic files/ digital photos are preferred.

sports & recreation Hoecker wins fourth RDGA Women’s Championship The 2021 Rochester Women’s and Senior Women’s Championships concluded on Sunday, August 8. Hosted by the Golf Club at Blue Heron Hills, the event marked a unique collaboration between the Rochester District Golf Association and its annual Women’s Championship, with the Women’s Rochester District Golf Association and its annual Senior Championships.

The 2021 Rochester Women’s Championship began on Saturday with the first round of the two-day, 36-hole competition and saw Jenna Hoecker of Brook-Lea Country Club take a 4-shot lead with a round of 5-overpar 76 on the 5,949-yard White tees.

Hoecker, a three-time winner of the Rochester Women’s Championship, took a four-shot lead over defending champion Julia Zigrossi of Ridgemont Country Club and Midvale’s Nicole Simonetti into Sunday’s final round.

In addition to finishing in fourth place in the Rochester Women’s Championship Division, Raina Hoffmann also carded the only known hole-in-one in the Championship history during Sunday’s second round. Hoffman’s tee shot on the 164-yard 7th hole bounced once and went in the hole for an ace.

On Sunday, Zigrossi improved to a 76 to finish at 156, while RDGA Junior Member Jayden Ford improved on her opening round of 82 with a 77 in the second round for a two-day total of 159 - however, neither effort was enough to catch the first-round leader. Hoecker’s second round - an evenpar 71 - was the low round of the Championship as she finished at 5-over 147.

Finishing with a 9-shot victory over Zigrossi, Hoecker secured the 2021 Rochester Women’s Championship title - the fourth time she has won the Danielle E. Downey Memorial trophy since 2014.

Also taking place on Sunday were the two one-day Senior Championships, including the Senior Women’s Championship for players ages 50 to 64, as well as the Super Senior Women’s Championship for players ages 65 and above.

In the Senior Women’s Championship, Jan Lavigne of Ravenwood Golf Club posted the low round of 79 on the 5,293yard Red tees to earn the title. Amy Mason of Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club was the runner-up with a round of 82.

In the Super Senior Women’s Championship, Oak Hill Country Club’s Kitty Colliflower posted a round of 79 on the 4,598yard Red-Black tees to win the title. Lynn Quinn of Clifton Springs Country Club was the runner-up with a round of 80.
