•Briggs, Marilyn (Scoppa), age 69, died January 28, 2017 at Unity Hospital. Marilyn was born May 16, 1947 in Albion, a daughter of the late Daniel and Stella (Adduci) Scoppa. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Gardner. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Howard; beloved children, Stacy (Chris) Briggs and Michael (Kasey) Briggs; beloved grandchildren, Kane, Carmen and Stella; several cousins and many friends. Her Mass of Christian Burial was held February 2 at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Church. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations can be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion, NY 14411 in her memory . •Mosher, Helen V., died January 24, 2017 at age 96. Predeceased by her husband Arthur Mosher. She is survived by her children Bruce (Elaine) Mosher, Wayne (Gail) Mosher and Ginny (Bruce) Spielman; 7 grandchildren Byran (Susan) Mosher, Derek (Beth) Mosher, Jeffrey Mosher, Morgan (Jessica) Mosher, Abby (Tyler) Spielman, Dana (David) Kleine; five great-grandchildren; brother Gene Walker; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held April 22 in the First Baptist Church of Brockport. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fowler Funeral Home, Inc. •Porter III, Frederick Andrew, died peacefully, January 22, 2017 at age of 34, after a long illness. He is survived by his loving parents Fred Porter and Kit Schlageter; his brother Jesse (Mercedes Simpson); his sister Kate; dear friend Ali Morabito; aunts and uncles, Barbara McClellan, Dan Porter, Ann (Jay) Dahlheim, Liz (Scott) Banner; cousins, Gregory, Jessica, James, Samuel and Will; several great aunts, great uncles, and many dear friends. Predeceased by parents, Dr. George and Marion Marsden; and brother, Lawrence. Richard was an Army Veteran and retired as District Executive of Boy Scouts of America. •Majeski, Lillian G. (McDonald), died at the age of 97, on January 7, 2017, in Holiday, Florida. Wife of the late Stanley Majeski. Beloved mother of Beverly Natkin (Theodore), Joyce Struczewski and the late David Majeski. Grandmother of Michael (Cristine), James (Paula), Kathleen Natkin, and Mark Struczewski (Michelle). •Paduchak Michael J., age 91, formerly of Kendall, died January 31, 2017 in the New York State Veteran’s Home of Batavia following a long illness. He was born, raised and farmed on the family farm until the age of 88 growing fruits and vegetables. Mike was drafted to serve in WWII, entering the Army on September 28, 1944. After receiving his training in Ft. McClellan, Alabama, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant with the Personnel Section of the 7th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division and served in Germany and Austria. He participated in many Europe and Rhineland campaigns and was awarded many medals. Sergeant Paduchak received his discharge on June 16, 1946, returning to Kendall to receive his high school diploma from Kendall Central School and to work on the 200 acre family farm. In 1957 at the age of 31, he became the Town of Kendall Supervisor and remained in Office for 32 years. He retired at the end of 1991. Mike served over 40 years on the Orleans Community Action Board, and 30 years on the Soil and Water Conservation Board, where he served as Chairman for many years. Mike was a lifetime member of the Kendall Fire Department. He married Marcia Harkness in 1964. Mr. Paduchak was predeceased by his wife Marcia in 1995. He is survived by two children: John (Andrea) Paduchak of New Hampshire, Nadine (Mike) Hanlon of Kendall, and four grandchildren: Marie, Nickolai, Marisa and Michela. His Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated February 4 at St. Mary’s Church-Holley. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery in the Spring. •Fladd, Ann Marilla Barner, died January 26, 2017, one day shy of her 93rd birthday. Ann’s spirit will live on in the memories of her four children: Donna(Edwin) Smith of Fairport, Frederick (Leslie) Fladd of Ithaca, David (Ann) Fladd of Macedon, Steve Fladd of Brighton; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. After her retirement from a satisfying career at Rochester General Hospital, Ann spent many happy hours helping others through her volunteer work with the Rochester area Red Cross and the American Heart Association. Losee, Marilyn Elizabeth (Lester) Age 93, a lifelong resident of Brockport, NY, and most recently resided at Country Meadows (Bridgeville, PA), on January 28, 2017. Preceded in death by her husband Boyd J. Losee; her parents Nat O. and Helen (Conway) Lester; and her brother Nat O. “Bud” Lester, Jr.; loving mother of Lynne (Sid) McAllister and Wendy (Nick) Kuzy; proud grandmother of Scott (Christine) McAllister, Tim (Angela) McAllister, Brian Short, Drew (Britney) Short and Aaron Short and great grandmother of Sophia, Melina, Niko, Arianna, Conner, Ethan, Liam and Zoey. Marilyn was an elementary school teacher, a member of the Catholic Daughters and a former Girl Scout troop leader. She enjoyed many years of travel and camping with the Coachman Owners Association. Her favorite place in the world was her cottage on Lake Ontario; her family will cherish their memories of summers spent there with her.
