David Bocach, son of Carol and Dan Bocach, graduated Valedictorian of the Chemistry department a year early from Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. He received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, with three minors including mathematics, French and honors. He also received the Gold Medal of Excellence which is the highest honor a student can receive in their major. David was accepted into six National Honor Societies for his work in his minors and major. He will be continuing his pursuits for a master’s degree in his field.

Austin Rasbach of Hilton, has earned a master of science in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Alyxandrea Hullfish, daughter of William and Suzanne Hullfish of Brockport, was named to the president’s list with a GPA of 4.0 at The College at Brockport. She is a 2015 gradute of Brockport High School.

Serenna Roose, daughter of Jim and Mary Roose of Spencerport, was named to the dean’s list with honors for the spring 2018 semester at The College at Brockport. Serenna is a 2014 graduate of Brockport High School.

Jordan Smith, son of Dave and Gina Smith of Hilton, achieved dean’s list honors at The College at Brockport for the spring 2018 semester.

Jordan, a senior theater arts major, will perform in “The Little Mermaid” with Artists Unlimited this coming November.

2017 Hilton graduate, Paige Southwell Koss, has completed her first year at Syracuse University in the Marcus J. Whitman School of Management.

Paige was on the dean’s list for the entire year with a 4.0 GPA. She also became a brother of the coed fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi. Samantha Sullivan of Spencerport graduated with a Juris Doctor from Western New England University, Springfield, Massachusetts, during the Sunday, May 20, 2018 commencement ceremonies.

Megan Stevens of Brockport was named to The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama president’s list for spring 2018.

Emily Schubert of Hilton was named to the dean’s list at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania for the spring 2018 semester.

Jocelyne Jordan of Spencerport has been named to University of Dayton’s spring 2018 dean’s list.

Rissew - Juergens Kayla Shim Rissew and Harald Ray Juergens were married June 23, 2018 in Rochester.

The bride is the daughter of Gerald Rissew of Hilton.

The groom is the son of Risa Juergens and Dave Juergens, also of Hilton.

Hannah Rebor, best friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

The groom’s best friend, Dan Norris, served as best man.

Kayla is a graduate of Siena College. Harald graduated from the US Military Academy at West Point. He is a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army.

After a honeymoon in Sicily, Italy, the couple will reside in Grafenwöhr, Germany.

in the service Lieutenant Commander Aaron M. Anderson graduated on June 15 from the United States Naval War College, the preeminent advanced military education school in the world. LCDR Anderson earned a master of arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. He holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University. Anderson enlisted in the Navy in 1998, served aboard the USS Nassau (LHA-4), and was accepted into the Seaman-to-Admiral program shortly thereafter, commissioning as an officer in 2006. He was designated a Naval Aviator in 2009 and trained with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 41 (HSM-41) and served as a junior officer in Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 70 (HSM70). He was flight instructor at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 40 (HSM 40) and staff officer at Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW-5).

He is currently serving as a Department Head in Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 74 (HSM-74) in Jacksonville, Florida. Anderson flies the MH-60R, an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface warfare (ASU) strike helicopter.

He is the son of Mark and Cindy (Hinman) Anderson of Bergen and is married to Brenda Tipping Anderson; they have two children. Aaron is the grandson of Evelyn (Hinman) Whitney of Jamestown and the late Robert E. Hinman.
