Prepare for an alien invasion at Library Park on November 12th at the second annual Celebrate the Arts Chalk in the Park Day. Using chalk, participants will be able to decorate a section of sidewalk with their interpretation of this year’s Out of this World! theme. All ages and artistic levels are welcome. The event is free but pre-registration is required. Cash prizes will be awarded to the best overall, best theme interpretation and most original. The Weston Foreign Films Series’ 17th season premieres on November 14th with Everybody Knows. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem star in this Spanish-language mystery-drama about a woman who returns home to Spain to attend a wedding, but the joyful reunion quickly turns tragic revealing dark family secrets. On December 12th, moviegoers are in for a treat with the French comedy-drama Delicious, about a disgraced chef who ends up opening the first restaurant. All movies are in their original language with English subtitles. Showtimes are at 4:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the AMC Weston 8 Theater; season tickets are on sale now. Who needs Netflix when we have Moonlight Movies in the Park? During the cooler months, the City of Weston presents free family-friendly feature films projected onto a giant inflatable screen at Weston Regional Park. The wondrous adventures of the extraordinary Madrigal family will enchant viewers when Disney’s Encanto is shown on November 12th. Then usher in the holiday season on December 2nd with the hilarious hijinks in the Christmas classic Home Alone. Both movies are at 7:30pm at the event stage.
