THE DIGITAL ART OF THE POSSIBLE SUPPORTING DELIVERY OF LOCAL DIGITAL ROADMAPS

#DigitalRoadmaps @WEAHSN @NHSscwcsu @NHSEngland

“In order for the National Health Service to continue to provide a high level of healthcare at an affordable cost, it simply must modernise and transform. This transformation will involve enormous changes in culture, structure, governance, workforce, and training. But none of the changes are likely to be as sweeping, as important, or as challenging as creating a fully digitised NHS. Robert Wachter

WELCOME Dear Digital Leaders, Our event today aims to introduce you to a wide range of innovations, products and services that potentially could support the acceleration of your organisation’s digital journey and that of your health and care community. There are also opportunities to connect with subject matter experts who can guide you on such aspects as data security, information governance, open source and data analytics. We have developed the format of the event around the feedback you have given us through our involvement in your Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) and Local Digital Roadmaps (LDRs) – exhibitors are organised around the five key digital themes that emerged from the LDRs across the West of England region. There are breakout areas where you can meet with exhibitors and have 1:1 conversations and our staff are on hand to support any questions you may have about the day. Just look for the people with blue sashes – they are here to help. We would like to thank our opening speaker, Deborah El-Sayed, for her encouragement, advice and support, our panel of subject matter experts who have kindly agreed to address the questions you may have about progressing your digital journeys and, most importantly, our gold sponsor, MyLife Digital and silver sponsor, InterSystems, for their help in making this event a reality. Please explore and enjoy and keep in touch afterwards! Best wishes,

LEARNING EVENTS Big Data with Wessex AHSN A key plank of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight (H&IoW) STP is the development of its Intelligence capability to support those bodies involved in researching, designing and running services to enhance the health and wellbeing of the population of H&IoW. We anticipate that the development of intelligence capability across H&IoW will primarily support the priorities of the STP, eg population health management, risk stratification and cohort management, by enhancing the system’s ability to move upstream to a stronger role in prevention through predicting health risk for particular populations and designing interventions to mitigate those risks. We are at the beginning of our journey but the insights we have gathered to date have been fascinating and provide a springboard to our future focus.

Code4Health – Community Led Open Digital Solutions Code4Health is a social movement aiming to educate and inform all participants in the health and care community about the possibilities digital technologies open up in health and care and equip them with the tools, knowledge and skills to work together to develop and implement high quality open digital solutions. This session will provide you with an overview of the key elements of Code4Health, its communities and how you can get involved.

The Information Governance Alliance (IGA) Information Governance Alliance (IGA) is a group of national organisations working together to provide a joined up and consistent approach to the rules on using information in health and care. Research has identified information governance as a major barrier to integration initiatives. Hosted by NHS Digital, the IGA provides a single source of authoritative and credible guidance, supports a national network of local experts and helps local leaders to develop a culture that supports safe and legal information sharing.

Personal Health Records with University Hospital Southampton and South, Central and West CSU The development and promotion of Personalised Health Records (PHRs) feature heavily in most Local Digital Roadmaps, and are a vital element of Sustainability and Transformations Plans to strengthen support for patients with long-term conditions and improve self-management. This workshop will have two leading perspectives on the development of PHRs: • University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHSFT) have been active in the area of PHRs since 2012 in developing their own patient online service, My Medical Record (MyMR). Director of Informatics Adrian Byrne will talk about the UHSFT experience - successes, challenges and the different approaches to PHR implementation and getting your patients online. MyMR is online at mymedicalrecord.uhs.nhs.uk and on Twitter @mymedrec. • SCW is supporting the development of PHR capabilities as part of wider Integrated Care Records programmes in a number of areas, including Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) and Berkshire – hear from Jocelyn Palmer (Connecting Care Programme Manager) on these developments and on approaches to creating the optimum design for PHRs which link with integrated care records.
