LEADERSHIP WESTMORELAND CLASS OF 2017 TO GRADUATE ON MAY 11
On Thursday, May 11, the Leadership Westmoreland Class of 2017 will be honored during a graduation reception at the Westmoreland Museum of American Art. The cohort includes 20 men and women from a wide array of businesses and industries. Leadership Westmoreland is a 9-month program open to individuals living or working in Westmoreland County. Its mission is to empower individuals to learn, grow and lead. In monthly, full-day sessions that include site visits and dialogue with key decision makers, participants learn how the county operates, acquire insight into decision making and gain access to vital resources. Over 40 guest presenters participated in the program, sharing their knowledge and expertise. Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce President, Chad Amond, commented, “It has been amazing to watch this diverse group of professionals embrace Leadership West-
moreland and take advantage of every opportunity to learn about the County and network with key decision makers.” Chairman of the Chamber’s Leadership Westmoreland Committee and representative of Torchbearer Sponsor, Elliott Group, Mike Storms added, “Leadership is learned. Leadership Westmoreland is an example of how the Chamber and its sponsors are dedicated to helping the process. At the end it boils down to the effort put in by all involved; great job to this year's class, presenters, and sponsors.” Leadership Westmoreland participant Michel Keller, Westmoreland Casemanagement and Supports, added, “I felt it was a wonderful opportunity and an honor to work with the diverse group of 2016-2017. It was a huge eye opener to the different styles of leadership in one room!” Continued on page 4
