WestminsterSchool benefits tremendously from the goodwill and financial support of nearly 2,200 alumni and families, past and present, that generously chose to support our school community in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. Through the support of so many, The Westminster Fund achieved its second highest gift total on record, $4,709,203. This includes more than $3.3M in unrestricted support and a record total of more than $1.3M in restricted support.
Unrestricted giving to The Westminster Fund remains critically important, accounting for nearly 10 percent of Westminster’s annual operating budget. These dollars support financial aid, faculty salaries, athletic teams and clubs, and academic departments. Collective annual support is powerful, and the school has a long history of diligently stewarding and carefully allocating our resources. The Westminster Fund is supported by students, faculty and staff, alumni, current and past parents and grandparents, and friends, with gifts ranging from $5 to more than $100,000. Each gift is an investment in Westminster and our extraordinarily ambitious commitment to secondary education.
Much of the restricted support can be attributed to critical campus programs, including Horizons at Westminster and the Davis International Scholars Program, as well as two very strong Class Gift campaigns. Families from the Class of 2023 literally lit up the Hill with their class gift as parents and students within the Class supplied 17 lamp posts to Perkin Memorial Drive, ensuring a well-lit entry for Westminster families and guests alike, and a safer trek into town for students. The Class of 2024 Gift moved into the Fifth Form year for the first time, ensuring that students and families benefit directly from their philanthropy during their Sixth Form Year. Class of 2024 families left an incredible legacy through the construction of Keyes Patio. This historic area off of Cushing Hall, named for the fifth Head of School Francis “Pete” Keyes, has been transformed into a beautiful and centralized gathering location for students, parents, faculty, staff, and Admissions visitors.
Beyond annual support, we enjoyed a year of tremendous activity and inspiring leadership. Endowed funds in support of scholarship, faculty and
programs continued to grow, both through donor investment and reinvestment, and through endowment gains. The Thring Society has grown to 332 members, all of whom are committed to ensuring that the mission and values of Westminster School exist in perpetuity. Volunteer leaders remain actively engaged and supportive as Class Agents, Reunion Committee members, members of the Young Alumni Council, Alumni Executive Committee, Parents Committee, and Board of Trustees.
We enjoyed meeting with alumni and families on campus, across the country and the globe at more than 20 local and regional events and through nearly as many virtual gatherings. The Advancement Office remains grateful for the generous support and thoughtful leadership of so many in our community, and we look forward to thanking you in person soon, whether on campus or in your local community.
With Grit, Grace and Gratitude,
Newell Grant ’99 Shannon O’Shaughnessy Director of Advancement Director of Advancement Operations

WESTMINSTER SCHOOL ANNUAL REPORT 2022-2023 29
The Class of 2023 Light Up the Hill project is an inspiring and ambitious gift that has transformed our campus into a brighter future. The installation of a series of lights along the entry drive coming up Williams Hill has made campus safer and more welcoming. While it provides an immediate benefit to students, its impact extends to every person that comes on campus including current and prospective families, faculty and staff, and members of the local community. The Class of 2023 Sixth Form gift total is $221,763. Light Up the Hill will remain a bright legacy from the Class of 2023, and current and future Martlets thank these generous families and students for their support in helping Westminster realize this transformational project:

sixth foRM gift — ClAss of 2024
Through the tremendous support of families in the Class of 2024, Keyes Patio has been reimagined and transformed into a spectacular gathering space on campus. Named in honor of Westminster’s fifth Head of School, Francis “Pete” Keyes (19551970), Keyes Patio is an iconic place to connect with friends and faculty, share stories and forge lasting memories. Keyes Patio was completed in the early fall 2023 and dedicated by Class of 2024 families during Parents and Family Weekend. As of June 30, 2023, Class of 2024 families raised $304,338 toward their Sixth Form Gift. While final fundraising in FY24 will further enhance the incredible space, it is with immense gratitude that we acknowledge the following Class of 2024 families and students who gave to the project during FY23:
