ABOUT OUR COURSES

Vocational Courses

(BTECs, UAL, City and Guilds) –Diplomas, Certificates, Awards Vocational courses are specialist courses designed to help you get the skills and experience you need to work in a specific sector. You will build your confidence, develop practical skills, and be assessed in a multiple of ways – there may be some exams and essays, but there will also be practical assignments.

We work with employers and stakeholders to ensure our vocational courses give you the latest skills and knowledge required by employers. Vocational courses are specifically designed to help you get into the workplace, but they also give you UCAS points to be able to study at university.

They are available at a range of levels, depending on your current level of knowledge and experience, from Entry Level to Level 4 and higher.

GCSE Retake

If you are leaving school and didn’t achieve the GCSE grades you wanted, our GCSE Retake programme is available to help you gain five GCSEs, which can be used to progress onto a Level 3 course. You can choose from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Maths.

Access to Higher Education Diplomas

If you’re aged 19 or older and are looking to study at university, studying an Access to Higher Education diploma will equip you with the study skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications

you need. Studied over the course of a year, they are Level 3 qualifications and can give you the required UCAS points for university entry.

T Levels

Equivalent to 3 A Levels, T Levels offer a mixture of classroom learning and ‘onthe-job’ experience during an industry placement, providing the knowledge and experience needed to open the door into skilled employment, further study or a higher apprenticeship.

You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships allow you to earn while you learn, with 80% practical ‘on the job’ training in the workplace with 20% ‘off the job’ study. For many of our apprentices, it is their first step in their career, but apprenticeships can also be used to give you new skills and knowledge in your current role, allowing you to progress.

As an apprentice, you’ll be in full-time employment and receive a wage from day one. Apprenticeships are available at a range of levels, including Higher Apprenticeships that are equivalent to university-level study.

Traineeships

If you are aged 16-24 and do not currently hold a Level 3 qualification, a traineeship can help you gain the employability skills and experience you need to progress onto an apprenticeship.

Our courses provide you with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed to become an impactful teacher. Initial teacher training qualifications cover how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching sessions, and how to assess and give constructive feedback. We also offer options that allow you to apply for Qualified Teacher, Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, and progress into secondary school teaching.
