Refund Policy Full refunds will be given up to 48 hours in advance of program start date. There will be a $10 administration fee if you withdraw from a program starting within 48 hours.

• Refunds will not be issued after the beginning of the third class.

• Medical Refunds (full/partial) will be considered for all programs anytime with a doctor’s note.

Exceptions: Eagle Adventure Summer Day Camp and Advanced Aquatic Courses: non-medical refunds will ONLY be granted with a minimum of 7 full days’ notice.

Welcome to our fully equipped, unsupervised weight room designed with everyone in mind! Beginner or experienced lifter, you will find a variety of free weights, machines and functional training tools to meet your needs. Below is a breakdown of everything we offer to make your experience enjoyable.

10 Atlantis weight stations, 2 elliptical trainers, 4 treadmills, 1 recumbent bike, 1 spin bike, 1 max trainer, 1 row machine, Ab coaster and free weights.

Orientations: Please bring a towel, indoor workout shoes and be prepared to participate.

As a proud mother of a 13-yearold daughter, I strive to set a great example by staying active, embracing new challenges, and being involved in the community.

Fitness is a big part of my life, and I love keeping busy whether it’s enjoying the outdoors, working out, dancing, trying new foods, or sharing laughter with those around me. I am a Certified Aqua and Group Fitness Instructor, as well as certified and licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, and Pound. I’ve been part of the JBMAC team since 2017, and you’ll find me either teaching classes or welcoming members at the front desk.

Leadership Leaders in Training

12-16yrs (M) Give your teen the gift of leadership this summer. Your child will have the opportunity to volunteer alongside staff in either or both of our preschool or school aged camps in July and/ or August. Schedules are one-week blocks based on availability and personal interest.

Swim for Life Preschool Lessons 3-6yrs

Your child may only be registered in ONE swim lesson per session. If your swimmer is registered in multiples classes, we will contact you to select ONE class. This gives more families the opportunity for swimming lessons. Thank you!

The Swim for Life Preschool program teaches preschoolers the basics of swimming through games, songs, activities, and drills. An emphasis is placed on providing Water Smart opportunities so children can make smart decisions in and around water. This is a 5-level, play-based program.

Swim for Life Parent & Tot Lessons 4-36mths Spend quality time with your little one while you both have fun, learn, and socialize. Through structured in-water play, we stress the importance of play in developing water positive attitudes and abilities. As toddlers progress in age and development, they will be challenged with new skill sets. All levels are age-based, and parent participation is mandatory.

This combo level touches on all skills taught in the first two parent and tot levels. Floats, glides, and submersions are taught along with kicking and arm motions to begin to learn propulsion. Water smart skills are introduced through the within arms’ reach and wear a lifejacket messages.

WHY THE CHANGE?

We have observed that children under 6yrs often struggle to meet the skill requirements in Swimmer levels. This change helps ensure that each child is placed in the most developmentally appropriate level to support their confidence and progress in the water. Swim for Life Swimmer Lessons 6-13yrs

This is a challenging 9-level program for school-aged children. Three swimming strokes and three rescue kicks are taught. Fitness is used to build endurance and promote individual success. Water safety skills are integrated into the lessons throughout the session.

Swimmer 1

Swimmers learn unassisted submersions, front and back floats and glides, and roll-over glides. Deep water skills are performed in PFDs.

Swimmers increase their glide distances on their fronts, backs, and sides. Newly introduced skills are front and back crawl for 10-meters. Water safety is taught through a jump into deep water, swim to edge and exit, and swimmers began work on the swim to survive skills.

Swim for Life Swimmer Lessons 6-13yrs

As per the Lifesaving Society’s recommendations, Swimmers 3-6 will now be 45-minute classes. This will allow for additional time to work on technique and endurance while still allowing time for water safety skills.

Front and back crawl techniques are more challenging, and swimmers learn breaststroke. Swimmers perform a roll entry into deep water, tread water for 1-minute, and then swim 50-metres without stopping. Swimmers are also introduced to standing dives.

Swim for Life Patrol Program 8yrs + Swimmer 7: Rookie Patrol

Swimmer 7, also known as Rookie Patrol, is the first of the Canadian Swim Patrol’s three-level preparation program for the Bronze medal awards. Challenges include: • Developing swimming skills through sprint work and endurance.

• Working on lifesaving and first aid techniques.

• Surface dives, object supports, lifesaving kicks, and self-rescues are taught and evaluated.

Swimmer 9: Star Patrol

The final level before entering the Lifesaving Society’s Bronze medal programs is Swimmer 9, also known as Star Patrol. Challenges include: • A 300-metre workout combining a warmup, stroke drills, speed work, and cool down • A 300-metre swim • Enter the water with an aid, swim 25-metres and tow a victim back to their point of origin, and carry a 10lb object using legs only for 25-metres • Recognize and care for a person experiencing a severe allergic reaction.

Endurance is evaluated through a 300-metre swim.

Swimmers work on sprints for short distances and have increased distance swims for front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke, refining their techniques and developing efficiency. Swimmers increase their knowledge in lifesaving skills by learning all three lifesaving kicks and performing a 10-metre underwater swim.

Intro to Recreational Synchronized Swimming 8-12yrs

This new and exciting class will introduce children to the world of synchronized swimming! The class will begin with 10-15-minutes of on-land exercises and choreography work and move into the water for the remainder of the lesson. Participants learn various techniques, combining them with rhythmic exercises and teamwork. As part of these classes, swimmers will learn a routine to music, culminating in a “water show” the last day. Swimmers must have nose plugs.

Prerequisites: complete Swimmer 3 or equivalent. Must be comfortable in deep water and able to swim a length of the pool.

In Swimmer 1, swimmers will learn unassisted submersions, front and back floats, and glides, and roll-over glides.

Swimmer 2s increase their glide distances on their fronts, backs, and sides. Front and back crawl skills will be taught and evaluated. Water smart skills are taught through a jump into deep water, swim to edge and exit, and swimmers are introduced to the swim to survive skills.

Beginner, intermediate to advanced techniques and skills are taught in these fun, challenging lessons. The instructor will discuss your goals and skill level on the first day and then tailor the lessons to you.

Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor 15yrs + (B/M) *Any child under the age of 7 years old must be accompanied in the water and actively supervised by a responsible adult (16yrs +). One adult may supervise three children. We encourage adults in the water helping with the party at no charge and they are NOT included in the 20-friend count.

This course will help prepare candidates with leadership and teaching techniques, stroke and aquatic skill development and safety supervision skills. Candidates will be evaluated through the session by peer-teaching and practical instruction of children in our swim lesson program. Swim Instructors learn to teach the Swim for Life Program, which includes Parent and Tot, Preschool and Swimmer Learn to Swim levels and the Swim Patrol program (Rookie, Ranger and Star). Pool and classroom sessions will happen each day.
